As a key member of the System Test Engineering team, you will drive product performance, reliability, and manufacturability through deep technical troubleshooting, data-driven analysis, and systematic test optimization. You will collaborate closely with Production, Quality, NPI and R&D teams to ensure Agilent’s products meet the highest standards of performance, quality, and ultimately customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Support cross-functional improvement projects and carry out additional duties as assigned.

  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues at the system, instrument, and sub-assembly levels.

  • Perform structured failure analysis to identify root causes and implement short-term containment and long-term corrective actions for Yield Improvement and Product Quality

  • Conduct component-level troubleshooting on defective PCAs, with emphasis on electronic and RF circuitry.

  • Design, refine, and standardize system and module-level test procedures to ensure test integrity while optimizing cycle time.

  • Develop advanced troubleshooting methodologies to improve diagnostic accuracy, repeatability, and efficiency.

  • Track reliability and quality trends; drive improvements to meet or exceed Agilent’s operational and customer expectations.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve OOBD (Out-of-Box Defect) and reliability metrics.

  • Collaborate with Production, NPI and R&D Teams to continuously enhance product performance and manufacturing robustness.

Requirements

  • Support evaluation and qualification of part, material, supplier, or process changes.

  • Develop detailed test plans, execute qualification testing, and produce formal documentation (test reports, deviation analysis, risk assessments).

  • Manage EOL (End-of-Life) components and PCNs, proposing technically sound replacements and qualification strategies. Support sustaining engineering activities across the product lifecycle.

  • Participate in transitioning designs from prototype to volume manufacturing, ensuring test readiness, manufacturability, and smooth production ramp.

  • Provide clear, constructive feedback by testing early versions of the product, checking whether performance meets requirements, identifying issues early, and helping ensure the design is robust for reliable manufacturing and strong production yields.

  • Ensure adherence to Agilent’s quality systems through proper execution of test methods, documentation practices, and qualification requirements.

  • Maintain compliance with relevant standards and internal/external audit expectations.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in system test, electronic test, or related engineering roles.

  • Strong hands-on experience with electronic circuits, system troubleshooting, and defect analysis.

  • Proficient with RF and mixed-signal test equipment including spectrum/network analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and LCR meters.

  • Solid understanding of:

    • RF circuits and impedance concepts

    • High-voltage modules

    • Digital Signal Processing (DSP)

    • Discrete electronics and op-amp design

    • Control systems (PID)

    • Mixed-signal interfaces (ADCs, DACs)

  • Strong Excel skills for data analysis (pivot tables, trend charts, statistical analysis).

  • Experience in programming or scripting (Python, C/C++, MATLAB, LabVIEW, etc.) is an added advantage.

  • Highly motivated, fast learner, and passionate about delivering high-quality products.

  • Strong team player with excellent collaboration skills across R&D, Manufacturing, and Production.

  • Able to work independently, manage multiple tasks and projects while maintaining attention to detail and timelines.

  • Systematic problem solver with strong analytical thinking and a results-driven mindset.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.
