This is an ideal position for an individual searching for an exciting career opportunity in a dynamic and rapidly growing global Agtech company. The Millwright position is a permanent position based at our production facility and offices in Wellington, Western Cape. The successful candidate will gain valuable experience in the repair and maintenance of pumps, agitator, separators, filter presses, compressors, pipe work etc.  in a kelp, liquid fertiliser production environment.  Further, the individual will also be directly involved in electrical upgrades and commissioning of new and existing equipment.


Main Responsibilities

  • Assembling, installing, moving, and the electrically wiring of all factory equipment and office buildings.
  • Operating machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to move heavy loads.
  • Complying with health and safety regulations.
  • Applying scheduled preventative maintenance to minimize production downtime.
  • Attending to both mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
  • Dismantling, moving and reinstalling of existing equipment.
  • All electrical work to be carried out according to SANS-10142-1
  • Performing routine tests and inspections on electrical and mechanical equipment according to safety regulations.
  • Installation, maintenance, repair, design, and wiring of electrical systems.
  • Accurately and timeously completing Job Cards when tasks are completed.
  • Testing backup generator and carry out routine checks.
  • Ad Hoc or other related duties as assigned.


Skills and Capabilities

  • Good at adhering to strict safety guidelines and conscious of safety risks.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting techniques to solve machine issues.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Good aptitude in working with all tools required for completing tasks.
  • Exceptional time management and communication skills.
  • Able to read, interpret and followdocuments such as specifications, machine manuals, blueprints, and electrical drawings.
  • Effective organisation and prioritising of tasks.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable with routine work but flexible enough to adjust to ad hoc situations.
  • Must be able to think creatively and come up with innovative ideas.
  • Strong electrical aptitude, including the ability to use various electrical testing equipment.
  • Willing to take ownership of tasks and lead assisting team members.


Minimum Requirements


Qualifications

  • National Senior Certificate
  • N2 Mechanical and Electrical National Certificate
  • A recognised Electrical Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal) as a 3phase electrician as obtained in South Africa.


Experience

  • 0-2 years post-trade experience


Other specific requirements

  • Full professional proficiency in Afrikaans and English (speaking and writing)
  • Computer literate
  • Must be willing to perform standby duties as required.
  • Must be willing to work overtime.
  • Must be willing to work at heights.
  • Forklift license is advantageous.
  • 3 Phase wireman’s license will be advantageous.
  • Sober habits.
