Job Purpose:
The marketing nurse acts as the bridge between the home health agency and the medical community. They educate doctors, discharge planners, and families on home care services, ensuring patients transition smoothly from a facility to home-based care. They will report directly to the Director of Nursing.
Skills/Qualifications:
Must be 21 years of age with a HS diploma and a Certificate of Practical Nursing and/or Associate Degree, and have a current unrestricted license to work in the state of Missouri and be CPR certified.
Prior experience in marketing within skilled facilities, hospitals, doctors' offices, and other medical facilities.
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, strong public speaking, and a working knowledge of insurance reimbursement.
Valid driver's license and reliable local transportation to visit regional medical facilities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing interventions in the treatment of the patient’s illness, rehabilitative needs, and preventive care.
- Utilize a skilled approach in the provision of problem-specific therapeutic interventions, teaching, and training activities in accordance with the plan of care.
- Assists with admissions and assessments.
- Regularly visits LTC and Hospital facilities to assist with outreach and marketing.
- Develops sales by making initial presentations, explaining products and services, and performing community outreach. They provide education to the clients, hospital staff, physicians, and community stakeholders on Home Care Services and the admission process.
- Promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; and supervising assigned team members.
- Provide hands-on care and patient education utilizing the At Home Care Policy.
- Treat wounds, change wound dressings, give injections, and administer enemas
- Collect specimens from patients
- Administer medications and set up medication dispensers.
- Measures and records vital signs
- Reports and observes changes in patient conditions to the Director of Nursing
