As an AIA Thrive financial adviser, you will build trusted relationships with clients, families and business owners, helping them understand and manage personal risk through suitable life, health, income protection and related insurance solutions. 

AIA Thrive gives ambitious advisers the opportunity to establish and grow their own financial advice business with the support, structure and credibility of AIA New Zealand behind them. As part of our growing Financial Advice Provider, you will help New Zealanders protect what matters most through high-quality life, health and personal risk advice, while building long-term client relationships and a sustainable advice practice.

As an AIA Thrive financial adviser, you will build trusted relationships with clients, families and business owners, helping them understand and manage personal risk through suitable life, health, income protection and related insurance solutions. 

You will have the opportunity to grow your own advice practice by developing client relationships, building referral networks, using AIA Thrive tools and support, and delivering advice that makes a meaningful difference when clients need it most. 

Day to day, you will conduct client discovery and needs analysis, explain recommendations clearly, manage the advice, application, underwriting and implementation process, and support clients through reviews, servicing and claims. 

You will be supported by AIA’s Aligned Advice, Supervision, Practice Development, Customer, Operational Support and Distribution teams, giving you access to the structure, tools and guidance needed to build a professional advice practice with confidence. 

As part of AIA Thrive, you will operate independently under the AIA Services New Zealand Financial Advice Provider licence through AIA Thrive. Your relationship with AIA is governed by distribution, supervision, advice quality and conduct arrangements, rather than an employment relationship.

You will be motivated by people, purpose and possibility, with the confidence and discipline to build long-term client relationships and grow your own advice practice. 

Required:

  • New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services Level 5, or ability to obtain the required qualification before providing regulated financial advice. 
  • Eligibility to provide regulated financial advice in New Zealand. 
  • Ability to meet AIA Thrive onboarding, accreditation, supervision and conduct requirements. 
  • A genuine customer-first mindset, strong ownership, high ethical standards and a commitment to quality advice. 
  • Ability to operate in accordance with applicable financial advice legislation, the Code of Professional Conduct and AIA Thrive FAP obligations. 

Preferred:

  • Experience in financial advice, insurance, banking, lending, wealth management, sales or professional services. 
  • Proven relationship management, business development or client-facing experience. 
  • Strong local networks, or the ability to build them. 
  • An entrepreneurial approach, resilience, self-discipline and openness to coaching and continuous learning. 
  • Ability to deliver suitable, well-documented advice that reflects client needs and circumstances. regulated financial advice.
