As an External Instructional Design Specialist, you play a key role in building the knowledge, confidence, and capability of AIA’s external partners through engaging, high-quality learning experiences. Working closely with the External Learning team, subject matter experts, and business stakeholders, you design innovative learning solutions that support strategic priorities and deliver meaningful outcomes for learners. This role combines creativity, learning expertise, and stakeholder partnership to continuously enhance AIA’s digital learning experience, strengthen learning effectiveness, and create a point of difference in the market. It offers the opportunity to influence how learning is experienced while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and growth.
- Design engaging learning solutions that build capability, support performance, and enhance the experience of external partners
- Partner with stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify learning opportunities and translate complex information into effective learning experiences
- Create high-quality digital content, assessments, videos, and performance support resources that align with learner and business needs
- Enhance AIA’s external learning experience through innovative, learner-centred approaches and contemporary learning practices
- Evaluate learning outcomes and use data-driven insights to continuously improve content effectiveness and business impact
- Maintain a well-governed learning catalogue and content library that supports accessibility, consistency, and content quality
- You bring experience designing and developing instructional or learning solutions across digital, blended, and online learning environments
- You have a strong understanding of adult learning principles and apply them to create engaging, accessible, and effective learning experiences
- You have excellent written communication skills and confidently create, refine, and edit content for a range of learning formats
- You bring strong relationship-building, communication, and stakeholder management skills and collaborate effectively across diverse teams
- You have strong organisational skills and manage competing priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes in changing environments
- You may also have experience with Adobe Captivate, learning management systems, or knowledge of AIA products and systems
