About the Role

The Healthcare Insights Consultant leads the development of high-impact insight supporting the execution and monitoring of the Healthcare Division’s strategic initiatives.
• Support shaping the Health BI roadmap and drive delivery of assets, ensuring timely delivery and alignment to enterprise objectives
• Frame business problem statements and develop and drive robust analytical workplans for deep-dive analyses
• Communicate insights clearly and effectively to stakeholders
• Uphold best practices in healthcare analytics and health data governance.

The incumbent needs to be detailed oriented, communicate effectively and maintain good working relationships with stakeholders.

(A) Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain performance management reports, with suitable leading indicators.
  • Review reports to ensure accuracy and consistency with established reporting principles.

  • Frame complex problem statements and guide the analytical approach to deliver actionable health insights.
  • Ensure analyses translate into decisions and measurable outcomes, facilitate cross-team execution.

  • Establish BI delivery standards including aspects of reliability, quality and reusability.
  • Drive tactical execution of BI development priorities aligned to the Health Insights and BI product roadmap.

  • Develop standards for specific domains in the enterprise Healthcare Datamart, along with accompanying Health Data Glossary(ies).
  • Develop requirements and standards for new data sources into Healthcare Datamart.

(B) Financial and Non-Financial Measure:

  • Reports and data visualizations that provide timely and actionable business insights
  • Effective data storytelling with business users on healthcare data insights
  • Enrichment of enterprise Health Data

(C) Communication Requirements:

Internal and External

  • Direct Reports to ExCo and business functional leads within the Healthcare Division
  • External consultants or vendors supporting strategy and analytics for healthcare

(D) Minimum Job Requirements:

Bachelors’ degree from a recognized university in any of the preferred fields of study an advantage:

  • Data Science, Applied Mathematics or Statistics;
  • Health Economics;
  • Life Sciences (biomedical science, pharmacy) with analytical course work;
  • Engineering (with quantitative focus); or
  • Actuarial Science

Minimum 6 years of relevant working experience in analytics, consulting, or actuarial role, preferably in a healthcare or payer setting. Work experience should demonstrate proficiency in problem framing and decision support

  • Strong communication skills in translating complex analysis into clear decision ready narratives
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills – challenging assumptions with logic and evidence and reframing questions to get to real business issues
  • Ability to operate effectively in high-pressure and fast turnaround environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in analytics tools and programming (e.g. SQL, R, Python) and business visualization (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau)
