About the Role
~2 min read- Support the company-wide strategic asset allocation and portfolio optimization and enhancement processes, so as to maximise investment outcome and enhance asset and lability management
- Co-lead coverage of either public and/or private markets, and the associated annual strategic planning exercise for assets and investment division for the planned period
- Drive better investment performances through regular and frequent discussions and reviews with all fund managers such as AIA IM and external fund managers, focusing to ensure investment requirements are met and risk-adjusted investment returns are optimized
- Set mandates and benchmarks for all the Company’s Investment portfolios and monitor execution of all mandates to ensure adherences to all MAS as well as internal limits and investment requirements. Responsible for portfolio analytics to support performance measurement and review against benchmarks, investment solutioning and investment analysis.
- Utilize internal investment analytics and monitoring reporting from Asset Owner perspective to enable strategic discussions to enhance competitiveness of our insurance product as well as new product development.
- Facilitate investment governance and control including monitoring asset exposures, investment risk limits, investment/portfolio mandate monitoring and all internal control assessment. Facilitate monthly investment sign-off to support month-end closing and regular regulatory filing to external parties and regulators
- Perform gap / impact analysis relating to governance protocols/ updates and regulatory notices to ensure the Company’s smooth transition to the new requirements. Share the responsibility of ensuring the adherence to internal governance protocols, while strengthening the control environment (as 1st Line of defense) and to facilitate the governance, risk and compliance culture, together with 2nd and 3rd Line of defense at AIA Singapore
Requirements

At least a strong bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or economics. Post-graduate degrees and/or additional professional qualifications such as CFA preferred.
Experience and key skillsets
- Minimum of 8 years proven track record as an investment officer focusing on multi-asset in life insurance company or banks, or asset management companies.
- Relevant investment background with experience in equity, fixed income securities and derivatives in a substantially sized fund or fund of funds.
- Good strategic planning abilities with enterprise thinking
- Ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis relating to portfolio construction, investment strategies, manager selection and performance attribution.
- Adaptive and agile working style while sensitive to different personalities
- Team player, effective communication skills, proactive & forward looking, able to work under pressure, sense of urgency & attention to details.
- Good influencing and negotiation skills
- Good problem solving and analytical skills
