Formulate and drive long- and mid-term strategic plans aligned with IT and business priorities.

Lead and influence a culture of cost-efficient, agile, and flexible delivery of IT solutions.

Establish policies, procedures, and best practices to build a center of excellence for product delivery.

Identify and develop leadership and individual contributors to build a high-performing team.
Lead quarterly portfolio backlog prioritization and review with business stakeholders.
Manage total technology cost ownership for the portfolio, including operating and capital expenditure.
Co-own business and technology OKRs and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
Chair Big Room Planning sessions for portfolio prioritization and delivery planning.
Provide weekly progress highlight reports to Project Sponsor, Project Owner, Portfolio Lead, and PMO.
Manage and influence relationships with senior leadership, vendors, Group IT, and business partners.
Own the product roadmap and ensure alignment with business strategy and innovation goals.
Lead cross-functional engagement across IT and business to manage the full product lifecycle.
Prepare ROP/business cases with Business Product Owners and follow the approval process.
Drive prioritization of demand and ensure timely execution by software engineering teams.
Create detailed product specifications (UI/UX, FSD) and manage testing, feedback, and delivery.
Track and measure product success, including post-launch evaluations and continuous improvement.
Ensure clarity of requirements and manage change control processes effectively.
Provide direction, clarification, and decision-making support to avoid delays and misalignment.
Accept or reject work outputs based on quality and alignment with product goals.
Continuously refine the product backlog based on evolving business needs and feedback.
Optimize delivery resources and manage financial planning for product execution.
Act as a mentor and role model to junior team members, providing guidance, coaching, and support to help them grow in both technical and professional capabilities.
Share knowledge, best practices, and product management expertise to uplift team performance and foster a collaborative learning environment.
Informally support resource planning and skill development by identifying capability gaps and recommending development opportunities.
Contribute to building a high-performance culture by encouraging quality mindset, ownership, and continuous improvement across the team.
Collaborate with other people managers to provide input on team development needs and succession planning where relevant.
Requirements
~1 min readDegree in IT from an accredited institution.
7-8 years of experience in IT Product or Engineering environment, with 5-8 years in supervisory experience on the supported IT domain. A good understanding of the insurance business and its success drivers.
Strong track record of managing a business engagement or customer relationship function within a large organization
Extensive experience of working across business functions and understanding differing operational constraints and demands
Demonstrable experience of working at the most senior levels of large and complex organizations
Sound experience in managing IT projects, business analysis and organizational/ business change.
Experienced in the identification, assessment and management of project risks.
Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
Accountable for the delivery of outcomes, strives to meet and exceed stakeholders’ expectations.
Able to influence key stakeholders to align on strategic priorities and drive business outcomes.
