About the Role

- Advise members of AIG’s Asia Pacific business units and corporate functions on AIG Privacy policies, standards, and procedures to seek to ensure compliance with these requirements, and applicable laws and regulations; and develop, implement and maintain AIG’s EMEA & UK Privacy program, including review, development and maintenance of privacy procedures, processes and training.
- Assist with regional, country, business unit and corporate function privacy professionals with privacy governance, compliance and operational activities, across Asia Pacific.
- Assist with oversight of Privacy programs impacting Asia Pacific, and interaction with global Privacy stakeholders and liaisons.
Responsibilities

- →Providing advice and guidance to business units and corporate functions on Privacy program risks.
- →Maintaining and developing knowledge of Asia Pacific laws and regulations relating to Privacy governance, operational and compliance risks, and implementing appropriate changes to existing policies, standards and compliance programs.
- →Acting as a leader in AIG’s Privacy Governance structure, including responsibilities relating to individual data subject rights, regulatory and individual notifications, records of data processing activities, privacy notice review, and Privacy Impact Assessments.
- →Leading the development, implementation and maintenance of policies, standards, procedures, assessment processes and response plans, and related team contact information.
- Interacting with Legal and Compliance stakeholders, and other liaisons;
- Developing and reviewing privacy training program content;
- Leading the development and implementation of ongoing monitoring of Privacy risk programs;
- Coordinating approvals for eDiscovery and other forensic investigations; working on the review and completion of the Global Compliance Risk Control Self-Assessment process for Asia Pacific Privacy.
- Assisting the other members of the Global Privacy Team with the management, operation and maintenance of regional Privacy Team networks and Privacy Risk Incident (“PRI”) response plans in Asia Pacific.
- Lead the assessment, supervision and fulfilment of legal and compliance actions to be undertaken prior to new technology, cloud and mobile app implementations.
- Previous Privacy experience required, such as relevant experience as a privacy professional, risk officer, or compliance officer in a corporate environment, ideally within an insurance field.
- Demonstrable experience in designing and implementing new privacy processes and procedures.
- Ability to record and disseminate complex information in succinct and meaningful summaries.
- Analytical skills, with an inquisitive mind to explore data and identify critical issues and trends.
- Competency with Microsoft Office 365 products Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and other data repository and presentation tools.
- Previous experience with OneTrust usage is a plus.
- Interest in new technology, devices, apps, Internet of Things, data science, Artificial Intelligence and other uses of data.
- Excellent relationship management, empathic and with influencing skills demonstrated at all levels of the organization.
- Team player and builder, supporting members of the team to attain their goals and objectives as a group.
- Confident, engaging, authoritative and pragmatic approach.

Requirements
~1 min read- At least five years of privacy experience
- IAPP certifications preferred (CIPP/A, CIPP/US, CIPM, AIGP)
- Previous experience working with diverse teams across Asia Pacific a plus
- Proficiency in Japanese is a plus
