Senior Leaders are responsible for developing business strategies and/or translating those strategies into meaningful outcomes and ultimately, business results.  As a Senior Leader, you reach across geographical and functional boundaries to create alliances that further the organization’s objectives and market position. Your deep and broad industry knowledge allows you to foresee external conditions that could potentially affect AIG’s future.


  • Manages all Divisional Underwriting for AIG’s South region, with national scope for Oil & Petrochemicals (Downstream), and North America scope for the Upstream line.  Establishes, implements, and evaluates production and profitability goals.
  • Direct accountability for the business results for the South region and the Upstream line with respect to profitability, penetration and/or volume.
  • Responsible for developing strategic client and broker relationships.
  • Represents AIG at industry events and seeks opportunities for speaking engagements to further AIG’s reputation in the Energy and Upstream/Downstream space.
  • In partnership with the Global Product Line Executives for O&P and Upstream, drive and execute the long-term business strategy for the US.
  • Serve as a technical expert, exercising technical authority with regards to the Downstream and Upstream lines within NA Energy.
  • Oversee multiple managers and senior underwriters; makes decisions regarding pay, performance management, development, employment, and staffing.

Responsibilities

  • Broad based insurance industry experience
  • Preferred minimum of 15+ years of insurance operational management experience
  • Knowledge of Energy market segmentation, portfolio management, acquisition and distribution
  • Process and system skills
  • Strategic orientation, managing vision and purpose, developing organizational capability
  • Strong influencing and communications skills and ability to work across multiple areas of company and industries
  • Change and team leadership, as well as external thought leadership
