This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic compliance professional to join the compliance department of a leading Lloyd’s Managing Agent.
Reporting directly to the CCO, the role carries breadth spanning regulatory compliance, financial crime, conduct and consumer duty obligations.
It is ideally suited to someone with strong compliance experience in the Lloyd’s of London Market looking to take their experience to the next level.
Working with 3 experienced senior compliance specialist, the role provides opportunities to learn and develop.
With offices in London, New York and Singapore, Talbot is the managing agent of 4 syndicates at Lloyd’s, underwriting numerous classes of business including war and terrorism, energy, marine, financial lines, cyber, transport, political risk, crisis management, kidnap & ransom, and property reinsurance. Through its expert team of underwriters and a balanced, geographically diverse portfolio of business, Talbot has earned a reputation as an industry-leading insurance specialist.
Responsibilities
~1 min readYou will assist the Compliance team on all matters but with specific emphasis on regulatory compliance, financial crime and conduct, supporting senior members of the team across their respective workstreams.
- Assist in monitoring compliance with FCA, PRA, MAS and LIC requirements across Talbot’s regulated entities
- Support the team in maintaining Talbot’s compliance with Lloyd’s requirements and Principles
- Maintain existing procedures and monitor compliance with company policies and procedures and regulatory standards
- Work as part of the Compliance Team on wider compliance advisory to the Business
- Work on regulatory reporting and liaison including Lloyd’s returns, Principles and PRA/FCA reviews
- Work on Complaints Handling process oversight
- Take a proactive approach to compliance risk monitoring and management across the Business
- Work as part of the compliance team on assurance matters, including the annual compliance plan
- Participate as appropriate in internal working groups.
- Support the Financial Crime specialist in Monitoring of Economic Sanctions and Financial Crime developments and how they relate to Talbot Underwriting Ltd
- Assist the Financial Crime specialist in providing advice to Business on sanctions issues including overnight screening
- Enthusiasm, willingness to learn, proactive attitude
- Strong compliance experience in Insurance (Lloyd’s Managing Agent experience is beneficial)
- Ability to work across all compliance disciplines
- Understanding of Financial Crime and Sanctions
- Ability to interpret regulation and policies
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
- Attention to detail
