Air Transport International (ATI) is an experienced supplemental carrier with the ability to reach across the globe. The Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA) Analyst will be responsible for assisting the FOQA Program Manager in leveraging flight data to identify operational risks, monitor safety performance, and support data-driven decision-making across the organization. This position will further serve in assisting the integration of FOQA data with ASAP reports, training events, audit findings, maintenance issues and operational safety metrics to proactively identify hazards and develop risk mitigation strategies. The FOQA Analyst will assist the FOQA Program Manager in partnering closely with Flight Operations, Training, Safety, Maintenance, and Technical Operations to improve operational performance and enhance aviation safety throughout ATI's domestic and international cargo operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities     

The FOQA Analysts’ duties include, but are not limited to:

• Assist the Gatekeepers and the FMT in analyzing specific FOQA events and performing trends analysis from de-identified FOQA data.

• Notify the ALPA FOQA Gatekeepers and the FOQA Program Managers of any event or trend

that needs immediate attention or may pose a threat to the safe operation of ATI aircraft.

• Coordinate with ALPA FOQA Gatekeepers on events in accordance with FMT event definitions.

• Provide the FMT and FSC with data, graphs, charts and other visualizations, as needed, to

support improvements to flight operations and technical operations.

• Establish procedures for defining fleet-specific events and associated parameters described.

• Validate, refine, and track event definitions.

• Record, track, and follow up on corrective actions.

Flight Data Analysis

·        Analyze and validate aircraft flight data from Boeing 767 and Boeing 757 operations to identify operational trends, procedural deviations, and emerging safety risks.

·        Investigate exceedance events including but not limited to:

o   Unstable approaches

o   Hard landings

o   High-energy approaches

o   Runway excursions

o   Tail strike risks

o   Altitude deviations

o   Excessive bank angles

o   GPWS/TAWS alerts

o   Automation management events

·       Perform root cause analysis and identify contributing operational factors.

·       Develop actionable recommendations to reduce risk and improve operational performance.

Safety Management System (SMS) Support

·       Integrate FOQA findings into ATI's hazard identification and risk management processes.

·       Support safety investigations and risk assessments.

·       Identify trends requiring review through the Accountable Executive and the Airline 119’s.

·       Assist in development and effectiveness monitoring of safety mitigations.

·       Monitor safety performance indicators (SPIs) and safety performance targets (SPTs). 

ASAP and Safety Data Integration

·       Correlate FOQA data with:

o   Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) reports

o   Internal occurrence reports

o   Audit findings

o   Regulatory findings

o   Operational performance metrics

o   Accidents or Incidents

·       Identify recurring themes and systemic risks across multiple safety reporting channels.

·       Support ATI's data-driven approach to safety assurance. 

Reporting and Executive Briefings

·       Develop recurring safety and operational performance reports.

·       Create dashboards and visualizations for executive leadership.

·       Present data-driven findings at:

o   Safety Committee meetings

o   Accountable Executive & 119 meetings

o   Flight Operations leadership meetings

o   Tech Ops leadership meetings

o   Training review meetings

  • Prepare formal written reports and recommendations for senior leadership.

Operational Collaboration

  • Support the FOQA Program Manager in coordination with the following:

o   Chief Pilot's Office

o   Director of Flight Operations

o   Flight Standards

o   Technical Operations

o   Maintenance Control

o   Training Department 

·       Provide analytical support during safety events, investigations, and operational reviews. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

·       Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

·       Thorough understanding of airline operational risk management.

·       Knowledge of FAA Part 5 Safety Management Systems.

·       Ability to interpret complex flight parameter data.

·       Understanding of aviation human factors and error management principles.

·       Ability to communicate technical findings to both operational personnel and executive leadership.

·       Ability to work independently on multiple projects while meeting deadlines. 

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

·       Timely review and closure of FOQA events.

·       Identification of emerging operational risks before adverse outcomes occur.

·       Reduction of repeat exceedance events.

·       Effectiveness of safety mitigations developed from FOQA findings.

·       Integration of FOQA data into ATI safety assurance activities.

·       Develop recurring safety and operational performance reports.

·       Create dashboards and visualizations for executive leadership.

·       Correlation of FOQA Data

·       Analyze aircraft flight data from Boeing 767 and Boeing 757 operations to identify operational trends, procedural deviations, and emerging safety risks.

·       Work with FOQA Gatekeeps

·       Assist Manager of Safety with report processing

Requirements

·        At least three (3) years of aviation industry experience

·        Excellent working knowledge of Airline Safety, and SMS

·        Experience analyzing complex operational data and identifying trends.

·        Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, SQL or equivalent database tools, CBT, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

·        Attention to detail and good verbal/written communication skills; Excellent interpersonal skills; Exceptional problem-solving abilities.

·        Ability to handle sensitive and protected safety data.

·        Ability to work well with others as part of a team and work in stressful situations

·        Proven proficiency in communication and presentation skills including development of presentation

·        Employees are regularly required to, stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard.

·        Ability to lift up to 50lbs

·        Comply with ATI attendance requirements

·        Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Aviation Safety, Engineering, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.

·        Previous FOQA or Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) experience

·        Experience supporting an FAA-approved FOQA program.

·        Airline pilot, dispatcher, safety investigator, or flight operations background.

·        Experience with Boeing 767 and/or Boeing 757 operations

·        Training in aviation safety investigation methodologies

·        Experience with ASAP Event Review Committees (ERC).

·        Knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS).
