Responsibilities

  • For managers of a central branch, the duties listed below also apply to all satellite branches.

  • Ensures a safe work environment by adhering to Airgas/Red-D-Arc health and safety guidelines. 

  • Provides exemplary customer service at the branch.

  • Maintains a high turnover rate and high-quality standards for all rental equipment.

  • Ensures that all rental equipment is repaired quickly and cost-effectively.

  • Ensures that spare parts inventory is organized and controlled.

  • Promotes sales of used equipment.

  • Conducts inventory audits at the main branch.

  • Ensures that all branch equipment and vehicles are maintained to high standards.

  • Take responsibility for recruiting and onboarding branch staff.

  • Take responsibility for training within the branch.

  • Supervise all fleet transfers into and out of the branch.

  • Ensure that FA verification issues are resolved during the fleet inventory audit process.

  • Ensures that branches comply with security audit requirements.

  • Ensures the proper management and tracking of all leased assets assigned to the branch.

  • Ensures that appropriate inventory procedures are followed within the branch.

  • Approves all purchase orders and invoices for the branch to minimize expenses.

  • Ensures that the agency collects receivables in a timely manner, including proper cash flow management.

  • Conducts the annual performance evaluation process thoroughly and within the specified timeframes.

  • Provides guidance and documents any shortcomings identified in employees whose performance is inadequate.

  • Monitors exception reports to identify and resolve issues within the agency.

  • Participates in the annual budgeting process.

  • Complies with all SOX requirements.

  • Ensures that all government regulatory requirements are met within the agency.

  • Implements all operational guidelines.

  • Communicates new policies, sales results, and other essential information to all agency staff at least once a month.

  • Communicates regularly with the sales team to ensure that the operations team consistently meets clients’ service needs.

  • Performs other related duties as needed.

  • Post-secondary education equivalent to one year of study in business administration or equivalent. Experience in a field related to the position is preferred or considered equivalent. All relevant experience will be taken into account.

Requirements

  • More than five years of professional experience in a relevant field is preferred.

  • Practical knowledge of positioning equipment, welding techniques, and related equipment is an asset. 

  • Training in equipment repair and maintenance is an asset.

  • A valid driver's license is required

  • Ability to adapt in order to define and prioritize tasks based on changing circumstances.

  • Ability to make critical decisions while adhering to company procedures.

  • Ability to work with a wide range of people with diverse personalities and backgrounds.

  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to proactively and methodically manage conflicting objectives and challenging situations.

  • Ability to effectively present information and answer questions from a group in a professional setting.

  • Ability to anticipate and resolve problems, act with determination, and persevere in the face of obstacles.

  • Ability to work as part of a team during the design and review phases of a project.

  • Ability to effectively build relationships with internal and external clients.

  • Attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to interpret and apply applicable laws and regulations.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects, meet deadlines, and solve problems creatively.

  • Demonstrate business acumen in pursuing the company’s strategy and overall objectives.

  • Must possess excellent technical knowledge as well as strong interpersonal and management skills.

  • Strongly customer-service oriented, with an affinity for a “monitoring and implementation”-focused management style, and a proactive communicator who keeps superiors, other managers, and their respective teams informed.

  • Able to manage multiple priorities among the requirements and requests of divisional, local, and corporate headquarters leadership.

  • Ability to use computer equipment.
