Production Engineer

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? The Production Engineer acts as a technical resource for Operations personnel in the plant.
Drives a non-negotiable culture of "Do It Safe, Do It Right the First Time" and “No Tolerance to Deviation”.
● Ensure Procedure/IMS Compliance: Will always follow approved procedures. Perform periodical task observation at production floor to ensure procedure compliance. If a procedure is incorrect or cannot be followed, the engineer must immediately Stop Work, report the issue to the supervisor/manager, and ensure correction through the Management of Change (MOC) process. Never deviate from procedures or bypass safeguards without authorization. Well informed on IMS documents (GT, GPs) and principles relevant to their process and activities.
● Proactive Monitoring of important production parameters & internal procedure compliance checks, when any abnormality or deviation is observed, report, by collaborating with stakeholders, lead the investigation/ troubleshooting effort.
● Shared Vigilance: Be a proponent of the WHY behind the safety rules established. Proactively monitor critical safety parameters, following up on the alarms and deviations to loop close them and systematically keep the Production Manager informed on the status.
Responsibilities
~1 min read● Builds and enforces strong Operating Discipline related to start-up, shut-down, and normal operations.
● Creates and updates key operating documents, including learning resources and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs and Work Instructions). Ensures knowledge transfer to operators and integrates feedback from operations and appropriate SMEs to such documents.
● Responsible for driving MOC from initiation to closure for all plant and process changes.
● Expected to be on call nights, weekends, and holidays as dictated by business needs.
Education
- Bachelor of Science (BS) or above in Chemical Engineering.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 3+ years experience in process, production, or project engineering, preferably within high purity specialty chemicals, food, nuclear, semiconductor or pharmaceutical plant operations.
Language
- Fluency in the Subsidiary official language(s), including written and verbal communication in English
● Able to learn technical chemical processes quickly in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
● Proficient in establishing, tracking, and driving gap closure using KPIs. ● Ability to read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
● Root cause investigation training and methodology.
● Experience working with highly hazardous chemicals in a manufacturing facility. ● Knows and understands best practices (design & procedure) for micro contamination control (preferred).
● Working knowledge of PLC and Process Automation control systems (Preferred). ● Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification or equivalent knowledge (Preferred). ● 5S and Lean Manufacturing experience (Preferred).
● Process hazard analysis training; LOPA and HAZOP (Preferred).
● Improvement project or capital project experience (Preferred).
● Ownership and ability to work effectively across multiple internal teams (HSE, Quality, Maintenance, SCM) and across sites.
● Exhibits risk based thinking.
● Methodical, data-based problem solving and decision-making abilities. ● Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to multi-task. ● Self-starter with the ability to perform well under pressure and changing priorities. ● Ability to communicate concisely and effectively with stakeholders at multiple levels in the business.
● Recognizes what he/she doesn’t know and doesn’t speculate. Spontaneously reaches out to SMEs when in need (design troubleshooting, deviation analysis).
● Spontaneously share learnings with peers
● May require working nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
