OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN / PLANT OPERATOR

We have an immediate opening for an Operations Technician at our LaPorte, TX HyCO3 facility. In operation since 1996, it is part of Air Products' Gulf Coast hydrogen and carbon monoxide production network. The facility operates continuously, supporting customer operation in the region. The facility utilizes advanced process technologies to separate hydrogen and carbon monoxide from raw synthesis gas. Operations Technicians work as part of a highly skilled operating team in a safety focused, process intensive environment.

The Operations Technician is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the facility. This position performs both field and control room activities associated with the operation of a highly automated hydrogen and carbon monoxide production facility.

• →Fulfill both outside and inside operations tasks to ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the facility.
• →Issue Safety Work Permits, implement Lock-Out/Tag Out, and run field execution of maintenance contractors while working in the facility.
• →Follow Site Work Instruction Manuals and implement Environmental, Health & Safety Standards.
• →Work with various engineering functions to solve plant process issues and maximize the efficiency of the unit.
• →Perform preventative maintenance tasks and troubleshoot equipment.
• →Perform water treatment tests for various boiler and cooling water systems.
• →Maintain training program requirements and certifications.

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Process Technology certificate or degree is a plus.
• Background working in industrial gas, refining, or petrochemical facilities.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding piping and instrumentation schematics.
• Basic computer proficiency and software knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Electrical, instrument or mechanical maintenance experience a plus
• Willing to work holidays and weekends
• Willingness and capability to collaborate within a group setting.

• Climb ladders and steps and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Look at and read a computer screen for several hours per shift.
• Capacity to work 12-hour alternating shifts, spanning both daylight and evening hours.
• Meet call-in requirements, as needed
• Occasionally work on elevated platforms (permanent and temporary).
• Work in all weather conditions.
