Alamo Group's Corporate Headquarters is currently located in Seguin, TX but we will be making the move to a brand-new office located in New Braunfels, TX by the end of this year. 

Under general supervision, the Corporate Sustainability Analyst will frequently communicate with Alamo Group operating company sustainability representatives on matters related to sustainability data management including, but not limited to, data acquisition/analysis/validation, utility invoice gathering and maintenance, training and assisting company representatives, managing software programs, conducting, and assisting with data audits, and other support needed for Environmental Sustainability reports. These reports are provided to the Alamo Group Executive Team, Board of Directors, Annual Sustainability Report, and governmental agencies, including the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). In addition, the Sustainability Analyst will work closely with the Alamo Group’s Internal Audit Department and outside audit agencies to verify the accuracy of the data.

Essential Functions of the Job:

1. Develop and maintains the sustainability reporting; to include performance analysis, writing content, development of metrics, and support of internal/external communications.

2. Collaborate with sustainability reporting personnel at all Alamo Group locations worldwide to ensure timely and accurate data collection and calculations of environmental inventories to support sustainability reporting.

3. Facilitate the collection of business intelligence systems, Alamo operations personnel, data collection services, as well as suppliers of energy, waste, gas, and water management resources to improve the efficiency, speed, and accuracy of data collection.

4. Coordinate with the Sustainability Manager and Alamo Group operations personnel to link project/best practices implementations and actions affecting capacity (adding/eliminating shifts or physical facilities) to changes in sustainability metrics through analysis of sustainability metrics and trends.

5. Coordinate with Finance to link changes in sustainability metrics to changes in financial results.

6. Develop templates for evaluating opportunities at each location and a matrix of active projects at all companies. Tie results of these projects, including Capital Expenditures, to improvements/changes in sustainability performance.

7. Assist with the scheduling of regular audits at all Alamo Group Companies to review sustainability data and work with Alamo Group Internal Audit and outside audit agencies to validate the accuracy of data.

8. Assist in benchmarking Alamo Group’s performance compared to companies in similar industries and make recommendations to Senior Management.

9. Train company representatives on the proper preparation and analysis of sustainability metrics used in reporting.

10. Additional duties as directed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):

1. Experience with data acquisition and interpretation related to environmental, financial or sustainability metrics in a manufacturing environment highly desired.

2. Knowledge of various environmental guidance and standards, such as GHG Protocol, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) standards is preferred.

3. General knowledge of energy management, water conservation, waste management and recycling initiatives in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

4. Knowledge of current practices and trends in greenhouse gas emissions and broader sustainability reporting.

5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience interacting with and presenting to internal team members, senior and executive management. Ability to write reports, letters, and profiles in a clear concise manner.

6. Skilled and proficient with the use of personal computers; including standard office software (i.e., Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) and the use of standard and cloud-based reporting software.

7. Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to formulate and deliver ideas and material in a clear, concise manner.

8. Able to build and foster effective business relationships with executives, managers, employees, vendors, and other internal and external customers/clients.

9. Able to identify complex problems and review related information to develop, evaluate and implement options and solutions.

10. Able to independently manage responsibilities and plan, organize and prioritize work.

11. Able to work irregular and/or extended hours as needed to complete projects and meet reporting commitments.

12. Able to travel independently, both domestic and international, by common air carrier and automobile, occasionally on short notice.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in an analytical financial or sustainability-related discipline from an accredited college or university required.

2 or more years of experience in a business, financial or sustainability analyst role required.

Experience managing sustainability/environmental data and general knowledge of sustainability accounting standards, greenhouse gas protocol guidelines and other sustainability reporting frameworks preferred.

Experience using business intelligence or other data management software and a demonstrated proficiency in data acquisition through direct interpersonal communication and the production of audit-ready analytical reports preferred.

Working Conditions:

This position will be based at the Alamo Group Corporate headquarters in Seguin, Texas and will support the management of Environmental Sustainability data and reports for all Alamo Group facilities worldwide. Work performed in both an office and non-climate-controlled manufacturing setting. Extended periods of sitting and/or standing; with occasional walking in and around a non-climate-controlled metal manufacturing plant and large agricultural and industrial equipment. Travel may be required (10%-15%) by common air carrier and automobile, with overnight stays and occasional weekend travel to meet reporting commitments. Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 25 pounds.
