Professional Education & Development Specialist (Optometrist) - fixed-term contract

This position requires strong verbal & written communication skills, a deep understanding of ophthalmology, including anatomy of the eye and disease states, and strong product knowledge of product features & benefits associated with clinical applications.

Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Develop, plan, organise, and execute Health Care Practitioner (HCP) engagement and educational programmes to increase advocacy, Share of Voice, and market influence.
- →Promote the Alcon Education Academy (AEA) platform to drive digital learning adoption and enhance the educational experience of HCPs across the CSEE and EE clusters.
- →Build and maintain professional relationships with Eye Care Professionals, advocates, and key accounts to drive engagement, support brand understanding, and positively influence prescribing and recommendation behaviour.
- →Lead the planning and delivery of educational support for congresses (both Alcon-owned and third‑party) in local markets.
- →Develop and manage relationships with HCP influencers, Thought Leaders, academic institutions, professional organisations, and key industry stakeholders to remain connected with emerging industry insights that inform commercial planning.
- →Drive market share and business growth of Alcon’s Vision Care portfolio through impactful educational activities.
- →Develop and maintain a comprehensive annual Professional Education & Development strategy and training calendar, covering internal Alcon teams, Partner teams, key accounts, and broader Eye Care Practitioner (ECP) audiences.
- →Provide quarterly and annual training and development plans, detailing strategies and key initiatives, to the supervisor and relevant training departments.
- →Plan and conduct field visits in local markets with clear coaching objectives for BDMs and FLMs, delivering feedback and actionable development plans.
- →Oversee training related to the Vision Care portfolio:
- →Dry Eye & Ocular Health (Systane Family)
- →Contact Lens Portfolio (WATERINNOVATIONS)
- →Contact Lens Care (OptiFree, AOSept)
- →Develop and manage the regional training budget in alignment with marketing and sales goals.
- →Ensure accurate and compliant management of transactions and payments related to training programs and activities.
- →Maintain adherence to all corporate compliance guidelines, regulatory standards, and governance procedures.
- An degree in optometry is mandatory. Any additional degree is more than welcome.
- Czech and English are BOTH a must/ Slovakian is a plus for this role.
