Requirements
~2 min read- A law degree and authorization to practice law in an applicable jurisdiction.
- Eight or more years of relevant legal experience, including substantial experience advising on healthcare data privacy, technology, commercial contracting, or adjacent regulatory compliance matters.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating privacy and technology provisions in data processing agreements, business associate agreements, and other complex commercial agreements.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare privacy and technology legal requirements, including HIPAA or comparable healthcare privacy frameworks, with the ability to apply legal requirements to practical business situations.
- Experience supporting privacy assessments, privacy and ethics by design, incident response, digital marketing, data governance, and the integration of acquired businesses or products.
- Experience advising stakeholders across different functions, organizational levels, cultures, and geographies. Exposure to United States, Canadian, Latin American or global privacy requirements is highly valued.
- Advanced proficiency in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to draft and negotiate complex legal terms and communicate effectively with global stakeholders.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, including patience, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to explain complex privacy matters in clear, business-oriented terms.
- A proactive and resourceful approach to problem-solving, with intellectual curiosity and the ability to develop creative, risk-based solutions.
- The independence and ownership needed to manage competing priorities, combined with a collaborative, team-focused mindset.
- An International Association of Privacy Professionals certification, such as CIPP, CIPM, or AIGP is preferred but not required.
- Make a meaningful global impact: Help protect personal and health-related information while supporting products and services that affect patients and customers around the world.
- Own challenging and varied work: Serve as a trusted advisor on contract negotiations, privacy assessments, privacy and technology regulatory and litigation developments, technology initiatives, incident response, and business integrations.
