Maintenance Building & Grounds (1st Shift)

• Ensure that safety is always the number one priority at Alexandria Industries; promote and support a safe work environment and safety oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelines
• Conduct general maintenance and repairs; carpentry, painting, general cleaning, change light bulbs or any other functions associated with the upkeep or maintenance of building and grounds, etc.
• Conduct snow and ice removal, using hand and power equipment to keep exits, sidewalks, pallet storage, loading docks and parking areas clear and in as safe a condition as possible (this may require roof work as needed)
• Conduct all processes and procedures in accordance with department guidelines
• As a member of the maintenance team, act as “emergency coordinator” - respond immediately to any workplace accidents that arise to tend to the tools and equipment involved

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Ability to recognize safety concerns
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong coordination and judgment skills
• Alertness and careful attention is required to avoid injury to self and others
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently

• Associates degree in a field relating to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding, or mechanics desired
• 1+ years of experience in building maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding, and mechanics desired
