We are currently looking for an EMC Technician 3 to join our team at NTCNA in Farmington Hills, MI.

The responsibilities listed are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties for this role. Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed, to support business objectives.

EMC Technician will work directly with engineers to set up and conduct EMC/Radio noise evaluation at vehicle level. Responsibilities include:

  • Electromagnetic Compatibility testing ensuring compliance with international standards and optimizing testing processes.

  • Skilled in evaluating and executing complex test plans for radiated and conducted emissions, immunity, and durability in high-intensity environments.

  • Expertise in operating and maintaining advanced testing equipment, including spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other EMC/radio noise tools, to deliver accurate and reliable data.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to diagnose issues, implement solutions to provide acceptable EMC/Radio noise performance.

  • Education requirements: Associate degree in an automotive-related discipline preferred plus 4 years of Test Technician experience in the Lab Operations Department or equivalent. (Will consider 8 years Test Technician experience in the Lab Operation Department in lieu of an associate’s degree).
  • Basic knowledge of automotive electrical systems and electrical circuits and components.
  • Knowledge of emissions and immunity, elelectro magnetic ESD testing
  • Capability to use EMC-related tools, Vector network analyzer, field strength probes, spectrum analyzer, amplifiers, canalyzer
  • Capable of quickly learning new procedures and using new test equipment
  • Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under a high degree of autonomy and minimal supervision to satisfactorily achieve task objectives
  • Motor Vehicle Report required
  • Travel requirements: Up to 20% 

  • Test automation experience, root cause vehicle electrical system analysis, and AI tool development knowledge

  • Nexio EMC Software experience

  • Knowledge in LabVIEW
