Lead preparation and review of the income tax provision, including effective tax rate, current and deferred taxes, valuation allowances, and return-to-provision adjustments
Ensure accurate and timely close processes are completed, including tax journal entries and account reconciliations
Oversee proper presentation of tax-related balances and disclosures in financial statements (e.g., deferred taxes, payable, cash flow, equity)
Drive automation and optimization of tax accounting processes using tools such as OneSource, Power BI, and Excel
Identify opportunities to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of tax reporting processes
Lead, develop, and mentor a team of tax professionals
Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Identify and document uncertain tax positions (UTPs) in accordance with ASC 740
Monitor and evaluate tax controversies and audit matters, coordinating with internal teams and Global Tax
Ensure compliance with internal controls (JSOX) and maintain strong documentation standards
Partner with external auditors and internal reporting teams to support financial statement audits and reporting requirements
Prepare documentation, respond to audit inquiries, and ensure timely resolution of issues
Monitor changes in tax law and accounting standards (federal, state, and local) and assess impacts on tax provision and forecasts
Identify risks and opportunities to support tax planning and optimization strategies
Partner with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, and other business units to understand transactions impacting the tax provision
Facilitate clear communication of tax impacts and ensure alignment across stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, plus 7+ years of relevant tax accounting experience and 2+ years of leadership experience
Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and U.S. GAAP tax accounting
Experience in a Big 4/public accounting firm or large corporate tax department
Experience with OneSource Tax Provision and data/automation tools
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Ability to work on-site in Franklin, TN
Master's degree and/or CPA preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to influence and drive change in a complex organization
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Proactive, self-starter with strong collaboration skills
Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on leveraging technology and data analytics
