As a School-Based Physical Therapist at LEARN Academy, you play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of comprehensive special education services to children with special needs. Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, you implement evidence-based interventions that promote students' participation and success in their educational environment.

You will work across school settings alongside teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers to deliver high-quality support. Responsibilities include evaluating student needs, developing and implementing treatment plans, and monitoring progress toward IEP goals.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• →Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' physical abilities and needs.
• →Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that align with students' IEP goals.
• →Provide direct physical therapy services to improve strength, mobility, coordination, and balance.
• →Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other IEP team members to support students' participation in classroom activities and extracurricular activities.
• →Assist in the selection and use of assistive devices and adaptive equipment.
• →Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• →Participate in IEP meetings and provide insights on student progress and recommended interventions.
• →Train school staff on techniques to support students' physical needs throughout the school day.
• →Mentor and/or supervise assistants or students in the physical therapy community.
• →Advocate for students' needs within the educational system to ensure they have access to necessary resources.
• →Stay current with best practices in school-based physical therapy through ongoing professional development.

• Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from an accredited program  
• Maintain state licensure
• Valid IVP Fingerprint clearance card
