What We Offer
~1 min read- Promote customer-centric values and deliver an exceptional claims experience.
- Interpret insurance policy wording, determine policy coverage, and establish appropriate reserves on assigned claims.
- Investigate, negotiate, and settle homeowner and condominium property claims of moderate to high complexity via telephone and written correspondence.
- Review and analyze condominium-related documentation, including declarations, bylaws, rules, reserve fund studies, corporation correspondence, and other governing documents.
- Assess ownership, maintenance, and repair responsibilities between unit owners and condominium corporations.
- Investigate and evaluate losses involving common elements, exclusive-use common elements, and individual units.
- Interpret policy coverage in conjunction with condominium governing documents to support accurate claim decisions and settlements.
- Collaborate with condominium corporations, property managers, restoration vendors, legal representatives, and other stakeholders to facilitate the effective resolution of claims.
- Take ownership of customer concerns and provide timely solutions to complex claim situations.
- Maintain a caseload reflective of a Property Claims Advisor and effectively manage competing priorities.
- Ensure files are thoroughly documented and comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Settle claims within personal authority and follow established escalation guidelines for claims exceeding authority levels.
- Work collaboratively with Homeowner Adjusters, Claims Assistants, and other internal partners to achieve business and customer objectives.
Requirements
~1 min read- Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant Property Claims Advisor experience.
- Prior insurance experience and knowledge of property claims handling.
- Experience handling condominium property claims is considered a strong asset.
- Knowledge of condominium ownership structures, declarations, bylaws, and maintenance responsibilities.
- Strong analytical and document review skills with the ability to interpret complex condominium documentation and apply findings to claims decisions.
- Ability to assess responsibility and liability between condominium corporations and unit owners.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify strengths, weaknesses, and potential exposures within a claim.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple files in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
