Alpha Public Schools is a public charter school network of four schools educating approximately 1,900 scholars in east San Jose. The successful Speech Language Pathologist believes that ALL students are capable of success. As a member of a Special Education team that approaches instruction with patience, creativity, and a growth mindset, you will assist the staff to integrate linguistic skills into their service delivery and help students to be skillful communicators. We seek Speech Language Pathologists who are committed to amplifying and celebrating the diverse experiences and cultures of our scholars and their families; educators who are excited to be a member of a vibrant school community; and, educators who provide access to instruction for all students by responding to socio-emotional needs, supporting literacy development across all classes and content areas, using culturally responsive instructional strategies, and accommodating individual learning differences.
- Support with the implementation of direct speech and language services to identified students with disabilities who meet the eligibility criteria established by federal and state law
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations and analyze standardized and qualitative data to determine student eligibility for services in accordance with state and federal criteria
- Manage the selection, implementation, and collaborative support of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems to ensure students have functional communication access across all environments.
- Create lesson plans and materials to support students with speech and language needs in classrooms and in direct speech and language therapy.
- Consult with general education teachers to ensure consistent implementation of IEPs and speech and language goals across all school environments
- Provide professional development sessions to school site teams that will support staff with learning more about speech and language services
- Provide legally defensible implementation of services, supports, accommodations, and modifications as provided by students’ IEPs
- Collect data on and monitor individual student performance, adjusting instruction and supports as necessary to ensure progress toward IEP goals
- Monitor timelines, interact with parents and other staff, and complete all paperwork, forms and reports.

- A valid California Speech Language Pathology Services Credential or Clinical Rehabilitation Credential or a California Speech Language Pathology License.
