As a Salesforce Solution Architect, you will own the solution architecture and architectural integrity of Salesforce solutions from pre-sales through to delivery.

In this client-facing role, you will work with clients and project teams to shape solution approaches, provide architectural leadership, and ensure solutions align with business objectives, Salesforce best practices, and delivery requirements. You will work closely with Functional Consultants, Developers, and other specialists while retaining accountability for the overall solution architecture.

As part of the Nonprofit Practice team, you will work with charities, community service organisations, and nonprofit business and professional associations, delivering Salesforce solutions with a focus on Nonprofit Cloud, Care Services, and Fundraising.

Responsibilities

  • Support the sales cycle by understanding client requirements, responding to solution requirements, and defining appropriate Salesforce solution architectures.
  • Partner with the Head of Sales and Marketing to support business development activities, including opportunity qualification, solution positioning, estimating, proposal development, and client presentations.
  • Develop and validate solution estimates, scope, assumptions, dependencies, and architectural risks in collaboration with the broader solution team.
  • Lead client demonstrations during the sales cycle, leveraging Functional Consultants, Developers, and other specialists as required.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to prospective and existing clients, translating business objectives and requirements into practical solution approaches.
  • Lead initial solution definition workshops following contract award to validate requirements and establish the breadth and boundaries of scope.
  • Define and maintain the overall solution architecture, including key solution components, data architecture, integrations, security, and architectural principles.
  • Work closely with the Functional Consultant as they develop detailed requirements, process designs, and solution documentation.
  • Provide architectural governance throughout delivery, ensuring detailed functional and technical designs remain aligned with the approved solution architecture.
  • Support Functional Consultants and project teams in resolving blockers, complex design decisions, and changes requiring architectural guidance.
  • Identify and communicate architectural risks, dependencies, and impacts that may affect scope, budget, timeline, or solution quality.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and architectural guidance to other members of the Project Team.
  • Contribute to the growth of the practice through thought leadership, development of solution accelerators, reusable assets, and participation in operational activities such as recruitment, onboarding, training, and enablement.
  • Provide architectural support to the Managed Services Team as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience designing and delivering Salesforce solutions, or leading enterprise CRM and digital transformation projects involving comparable platforms and technologies, including:
    • Nonprofit CRM systems (e.g. Penelope, Microsoft Dynamics, NPSP, Civica, Carelink)
    • Fundraising Software (e.g. Funraisin, FundraiseUp, Stripe, Raisely)
    • Marketing Software (e.g. Marketing Cloud, Ortto)
    • Integration platforms (e.g. MuleSoft, Workato, Zapier, Make.com, Omatic)
  • Proven track record of estimating, planning, and architecting end-to-end solutions.
  • Experience in multiple full lifecycle implementations with responsibility for solution architecture or solution leadership.
  • Experience supporting pre-sales activities, including requirements analysis, solution design, estimating, and demonstrations.
  • Experience and understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
  • Knowledge of data migration and integration practices.
  • One or more current Salesforce certifications, with Architecture, Application, Integration, or Nonprofit Cloud certifications highly regarded.
  • Must be based in Australia (preferably Sydney) and hold a valid permit to work.

Skills:

  • Strong experience designing and architecting Salesforce solutions, preferably with experience or knowledge of Nonprofit Cloud, Data Cloud, and Marketing Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, including data modelling, security, automation, integration, and application design.
  • Ability to design pragmatic, scalable, and maintainable solution architectures that balance business outcomes, Salesforce best practices, and delivery constraints.
  • Strong solution scoping and estimation skills, including the ability to identify assumptions, dependencies, risks, and areas requiring further discovery.
  • Strong consultative and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted advisor relationships and influence decision-making.
  • Exceptional communication and facilitation skills, including the ability to lead workshops, demonstrations, and discussions with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to guide teams through complex architectural decisions and trade-offs.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams while providing architectural leadership and governance.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
  • Passion for, or experience working within, the for-purpose sector.
