Responsibilities

  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, and retaining staff members.
  • Strong emphasis on mentoring and developing up-and-coming employees for future leadership roles
  • Ensure staffing levels and schedules provide quality coverage and effective workflow in all departments, adhering to budgetary guidelines
  • Proactively resolve guest, owner, and employee problems with urgency, respect, and empathy
  • Monitor payroll daily to ensure staff and department efficiency
  • Work with all departments and department managers to foster a spirit of teamwork and cooperation
  • Serve as the primary onsite liaison with the Club’s restaurant tenant, coordinating operational needs, communication, service expectations, owner and guest concerns, and follow-up with the tenant and Club management
  • Assist the General Manager in planning and overseeing capital projects throughout the property and take an active role in preparing, maintaining, and updating the Club’s five-year capital project plan
  • Ensure all month end procedures are accomplished in a timely fashion
  • Lead the preparation and ongoing management of the Club’s annual operating budget, including departmental input, forecasting, expense controls, variance analysis, and recommendations to the General Manager
  • Prepare, update, analyze, and present monthly profit and loss statements and budget-to-actual variances for DVC management review and presentation to the Board of Trustees
  • Oversee owner accounting software for quarterly dues and special assessment billing and work with the club accountant as needed
  • Ensure owners are updated when transactions settle
  • Oversee package store inventory and ordering to comply with State of Utah (DABS) policies
  • Work with Deer Valley Resort on property management software implementation, training, and troubleshooting
  • Work with General Manager on DVC marketing, website, and social media to ensure fluid and accurate content throughout the digital platforms
  • Assist in property tours for potential buyers and vendors
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of four years management experience in the hospitality industry required
  • Demonstrated financial knowledge and experience in annual operating budget preparation, profit and loss statements, budget-to-actual analysis, five-year capital project planning, reserve studies, and front office accounting procedures
  • Able to lift 30 lbs., carry luggage, and operate a company vehicle
  • Required to work weekends and holidays as operational needs dictate and to maintain a flexible schedule; shifts will likely be mid-shift during peak seasons
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literate
