Amarr, an industry leader in sectional garage doors and part of global opening solutions leader ASSA ABLOY, is searching for an experienced Transportation and Logistic Manager to Manage our Milk Run Team.
Job Summary:
The Milk Run Manager is responsible for maintaining specific customer accounts through the efficient utilization of all resources. Specifically, the Milk Run Manager will work closely with Production Planning and take the lead in the coordination, planning, loading and delivery of all Milk Run Deliveries from the Lawrence Manufacturing facility. Maintaining customer satisfaction and providing timely, internal feed-back will ensure increased sales and revenue. The Milk Run Manager will interview, hire, develop training plans, and provide accountability for all Milk Run Drivers.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- Minimum 3 – 5 years of transportation management required.
- Minimum 3 – 5 years of profit and loss statement reporting required.
- Ability to travel as needed (estimated frequency of 25%).
- Competent with various software packages and PC window applications. Preferred software experience includes Microsoft Suite, Navigator, 3G, and other transportation management software (TMS).
- Valid driver’s license (including endorsements/class requirements as per State & DOT regulations).
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
- Periodically assist in the loading and unloading of all Milk Run Customer orders as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Courteous customer service-oriented attitude. Sales experience is required.
- Excellent Leadership and coaching ability.
- Adhere to and enforce all company policies and procedures regarding DOT compliance and standards.
- Accessible to customers and team members continuously when urgent situations arise during off hours and weekends.
- Accountable for the daily execution of company defined (Milk Run) program and associated processes.
- Capacity planning and scheduling all Milk Run Drivers based on volume and maintaining Shawnee shuttle runs. Working closely with the scheduling team.
- Provides back up staffing for the yard truck driver as support to shipping operations.
- Oversee and verify the accuracy and availability of all outgoing shipments, working alongside shipping leadership and resources. Shipping and manufacturing experience required.
- Investigate all customer complaints involving damage, overcharges, shipping errors and delay in shipment, leveraging manufacturing and production planning resources to resolve each, accordingly.
- Confer with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded sales for Milk Run footprint.
- Develop plans to improve efficiency and provide leadership to expand or increase current geographic region.
- Promote and drive Milk Run Program revenue growth and profitability.
- Work with DLX representatives to coordinate supplementary power options for deliveries when necessary.
- Oversee and maintain all Amarr-owned assets used in Lawrence and Shawnee facilities.
- Manage all currently leased power equipment and build business cases for new equipment.
- Ensure corporate programs regarding safety, security, care of equipment and facility, etc., are followed, ensure OSHA compliance to include full reporting as needed.
- Collaborate with a dedicated customer service team, supplying guidance and training as needed.
- Verbal, written and interpersonal skills (sales skills), as well as excellent supervisory, leadership and motivational skills.

Physical Requirements:
- Must perform work in non-climate-controlled warehouse facility.
- Extended time on feet, walking distances up to 200 feet.
- Manual dexterity and hand to eye coordination for operation of hand/power tools.
- Frequent stooping, bending, walking, carrying, and lifting (up to 50 pounds).
