This dedicated CDL-A flatbed position is built for experienced steel haulers who are comfortable with tarping, securement, and flatbed operations. Drivers pick up stainless-steel freight near Calvert, Alabama, deliver throughout the United States, and receive available backhaul freight that helps move the truck efficiently back toward the dedicated account.
Pay & Home Time
- Pay of $2,000 to $2,100 per week
- $5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified drivers
- Home weekly for a 34-hour reset
- Home time may occur during the week
- Saturday or Sunday home time is not guaranteed
- Weekly schedule depends on delivery location and available return freight
Dedicated Flatbed Freight
Outbound loads consist primarily of smaller stainless-steel coils and flat sheets transported on 48-foot flatbed trailers.
- Dedicated stainless-steel freight
- Nationwide delivery area
- Primarily live loading and unloading
- Available backhauls assigned toward Alabama
- Backhaul freight may include lumber, insulation, or other flatbed commodities
Tarping & Securement
Approximately 75% of loads require tarping. Drivers use lightweight six-foot drop tarps supplied with the account equipment, rather than traditional heavier flatbed tarps.
- Steel-hauling experience required
- Tarping required on applicable loads
- Load securement experience required
- Trailers equipped with 12 winches and straps
- Lightweight account-specific tarps provided
Truck & Equipment
- Assigned newer-model Kenworth tractors
- 2025 Extreme 48-foot flatbed trailers
- Account-specific securement equipment
- Assigned equipment for qualified drivers
Orientation
- $100 per day orientation pay
- Monday through Thursday orientation
- Hotel accommodations provided
- Meals and travel arrangements included
CDL-A Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum 1 year of OTR experience within the last 5 years
- Minimum 6 months of flatbed experience
- Steel-hauling experience required
- Tarping and load-securement experience required
- Coil-hauling certification required before hauling coil freight
- Acceptable driving record
