Finance Manager

The Finance Manager will support Amgen’s Operations Finance team through financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, variance analysis, and business partnering. This role requires strong knowledge of corporate finance, accounting principles, operational performance management, and financial controls.

The individual will partner with Operations, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, and other cross-functional teams to provide financial insights, manage budgets and forecasts, support decision-making, and help ensure financial discipline across operational activities.

• →Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and long-range planning activities for Operations Finance.
• →Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and business performance commentary.
• →Partner with Operations stakeholders to understand cost drivers, risks, opportunities, and business priorities.
• →Manage expense analysis, cost center reporting, headcount tracking, capital planning, and operational finance support.
• →Analyze actual results versus budget, forecast, and prior periods, providing clear insights and recommendations.
• →Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, journal entry review, and financial validation.
• →Prepare management presentations, business review materials, financial summaries, and ad hoc analyses.
• →Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and corporate finance requirements.
• →Collaborate with cross-functional partners to support operational decision-making and performance management.
• →Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, reporting consistency, forecast accuracy, and overall efficiency.
• →Use tools such as SAP, S/4HANA, ChatGPT, Codex, Hyperion, Anaplan, Excel, Smartsheet, and Tableau to support reporting and analysis.
• →Communicate financial results, risks, opportunities, and recommendations to finance leaders and business partners.
