Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will partner closely across Amgen’s therapeutic areas to translate data into discovery, accelerating the path to target discovery and prosecution; focused on the  adaptation and implementation of complex in vitro models to power target discovery and functional genomics efforts.

In this essential role for discovery at Amgen, you will be part of a dynamic, cross-functional team to advance target and biological discovery across Amgen’s therapeutic areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Amgen therapeutic area scientists to leverage appropriate cellular models, gene delivery methods, and perturbation techniques to capture disease-relevant biology.
  • Design, optimize, and execute functional arrayed genomic screens in advanced in vitro models (e.g. iPSC-derived cell types, co-cultures, primary cells, organoids, etc.)
  • Partner with TD&B and cross-functional team members, including automation colleagues, to accelerate model deployment and reproducibility.
  • Identify and implement emerging technologies in high content imaging, cell engineering, automation, and complex model systems to enhance the sophistication and throughput of discovery platforms.
  • Foster a collaborative, creative, and scientifically rigorous team culture committed to delivering impact across Amgen’s pipeline.
