~3 min read

The Senior Product Manager, Product Operations - Playbook & Training will help scale Amgen’s Digital Product Operating Model (DPOM) by creating, maintaining, and facilitating the practical materials teams need to adopt product ways of working. Reporting to the Director, Product Operations, this individual contributor role will own DPOM playbook content, product management standards, templates, examples, self-serve guides, formal training, and accelerator workshops that help product teams, product groups, and business functions apply DPOM consistently.

This role will translate product management practices into clear, usable, enterprise-ready guidance. The Senior Product Manager, Product Operations - Playbook & Training will create materials that help teams define product vision and strategy, understand user and business problems, develop roadmaps, define OKRs and KPIs, prioritize opportunities, conduct discovery, clarify roles and decision rights, and connect product work to measurable outcomes.

This role will partner closely with Product Management Catalysts to convert real examples, lessons learned, and field-tested practices into reusable assets, while owning version control, socialization, and distribution of DPOM materials across the enterprise.

DPOM Playbook and Product Management Standards

·       Create clear, practical, and scalable materials that help teams understand and apply DPOM in real product work.

·       Partner with the Director, Product Operations and Product Management Hub leadership to ensure playbook content reflects enterprise product management standards.

Templates and Reusable Assets

·       Create and maintain templates, examples, self-serve guides, checklists, workshop materials, and other accelerators that help teams adopt DPOM.

·       Develop reusable assets that make it easier for teams to produce high-quality product strategies, roadmaps, OKRs, charters, prioritization recommendations, and value measurement plans.

·       Translate complex product management concepts into practical tools that teams can use without heavy interpretation.

·       Own version control, content hygiene, distribution, and socialization of DPOM materials across relevant enterprise channels.

Training and Accelerator Workshops

·       Design and facilitate formal training sessions, accelerator workshops, and enablement experiences that help teams adopt product management practices.

·       Support business leads, Digital Product Managers, business analysts, technology leads, design, data, and engineering team members in understanding how DPOM applies to their work.

·       Create learning experiences that are practical, interactive, and grounded in real product scenarios.

·       Continuously improve training and accelerator content based on feedback, adoption barriers, and maturity insights.

Partnership and Enterprise Enablement

·       Partner with Product Management Catalysts to convert embedded engagement learnings into reusable examples, templates, playbook updates, and training materials.

·       Partner with Product Operations colleagues to use maturity and adoption insights to identify where teams need clearer guidance or stronger enablement and to ensure tools, workflows, and AI-enabled product practices are reflected in playbook materials and accelerators.

·       Partner with Product Management Hub, business functions, digital product leadership, technology leaders, Agile Enablement, Change Management, and other enabling teams to socialize and scale DPOM guidance.
