- →Organizes time, equipment, supplies, and personnel to provide effective and efficient case management
- →Supervises and directs patient care in an endoscopy room
- →Organizes nursing activities efficiently and effectively
- →Delegates activities appropriate to the abilities of available staff members
- →Assists with supply, drug, and equipment inventories to maintain stock level and availability
- →Addresses patient needs during admission to the endoscopy room, with attention to requirements specific to the outpatient setting
- →Transports patients to the endoscopy room observing policies, procedures, and safety requirements, and according to patient needs
- →Identifies the patient and correct procedure according to policy and procedure and communicates with all members of the surgical team
- → Reviews patient’s medical record and needs to plan care with other healthcare team members
- →Provides comfort and reassurance to patient
- →Maintains patient’s privacy and dignity
- →Explains procedures and care to the patient
- →Prepares room according to requirements of patient and procedure to be performed
- → Assembles and provides properly functioning equipment, supplies, and instruments before start of procedure
- →Assists with the proper and safe positioning of the patient
- →Administers medication per order of physician and based on condition of patient
- →Monitors patient condition and maintains accurate documentation preprocedure, during procedure, and postprocedure
- →Provides continuity of patient care by communicating with other perioperative care personnel and documenting records accordingly
- →Responds in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and physician
Ability to sit/stand for a considerable amount of time; ability to walk and some moderate lifting
- Visual and auditory acuity for frequent use of computer, telephone, and occasional use of other office equipment
- Ability to perform occasional overhead and low reaching
- Physical strength required for equipment needs and patient-care activities
- Visual and auditory acuity for timely responsiveness and patient-care assessment activities
- Ability to move quickly in response to patient needs
- Constant and frequent judgment and response
- Occasional judgment and response to disasters or emergencies, actual events, or drills
Requirements
~1 min read- High school graduate or GED certification
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- RN with active license in appropriate state
- BLS/ACLS certification
- IV Certification
- EKG Certification
- Endoscopy experience preferred but not required
- Evidence of leadership qualities
- Strong ethical and moral character references
- Must be able to commit to assigned hours as per part time employee policy
Language skills adequate for high-level written, interpersonal, and telephone communication.
