Overview

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting an Anesthesiologist to provide onsite services to eligible beneficiaries of the Columbia VA Health Care System located at 6439 Garners Ferry Road, Columbia, SC 29209. Shift scheduling is generally Mon-Fri, 0700-1630 with call. Full-time and Locum Tenens positions with generous compensation packages are available.

Responsibilities
  • Provide full‑scope Anesthesiology care in clinics, operating rooms, and procedural areas. 
  • Arrive on time for all scheduled procedures/clinics.
  • Deliver anesthesia care for:
    • Cardiac surgery
    • Orthopedic joint replacements
    • Major vascular, thoracic, neurosurgical, plastic, ENT, urologic, ophthalmologic surgeries
  • Provide anesthesia support for:
    • ECT
    • Cardiac cath lab
    • Electrophysiology
    • GI lab
    • Radiology suites
  • Provide care for:
    • Surgical ICU patients
    • Short‑stay units
    • Acute & chronic pain management
    • Emergency airway management
    • Diagnostic transesophageal echocardiography
  • Perform consults at bedside or clinic.
  • Provide discharge education and follow‑up instructions. 
  • Provide 24/7/365 anesthesia coverage including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Be available by phone within 15 minutes and on‑site within 60 minutes. 
  • Participate in rotating call coverage (1 provider after 3:30 PM).
  • Attend staff meetings (monthly). 
  • Participate in Quality Improvement activities and complete required documentation.
  • Complete QM/PI documentation, patient safety reporting, and other required administrative tasks.
Qualifications
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
  • Active, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia
  • Current AHA BLS and ACLS
  • NPI report printout
  • Active DEA license
  • Must be able to pass a federal background investigation
  • Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
  • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
  • Lift up to 20 lbs
  • Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
  • Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
