Pivot Operator - Agriculture | Angola

Apt Resources is seeking a Pivot Operator to join an agricultural operation in Angola. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining center pivot irrigation systems and pumping stations, ensuring proper water flow, pressure, and uniform irrigation to support optimal crop production. You will also carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on electromechanical systems, helping to maintain the reliability and efficiency of the farm’s irrigation operations.

• →Operate and position center pivots according to irrigation plans, adjusting speed and application rates.
• → Monitor pressure, nozzles, valves, and flow rates, making adjustments as needed.
• → Apply liquid fertilizers and calibrate injection systems as required.
• → Inspect and monitor pumping systems, checking amperage, motor vibration, bearing oil levels, and reporting irregularities.
• → Perform preventive maintenance on pivot systems, including lubrication, electrical tightening, and gear oil changes.
• → Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults in panels, pumps, and sensors.
• → Assemble and calibrate new equipment such as pumps, valves, and control panels.
• → Maintain accurate maintenance records and breakdown reports, ensuring spare parts availability.
• → Adhere to safety standards, wearing PPE and keeping pump/panel areas clean and hazard-free.
• → Support general farm operations, including cleaning irrigation areas and assisting with soil preparation or water transport when required.

• →Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences, Electromechanics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• → Minimum 2 years’ experience operating or maintaining irrigation systems, electric pumps, or similar industrial equipment.
• → Strong knowledge of electric motors, industrial electricity, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
• → Problem-solving mindset with excellent time management and teamwork skills.
• → Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks and follow strict safety procedures.
