Arcana is a portfolio intelligence platform used by hedge funds and asset managers to analyze performance and risk. We're rethinking the tools institutional investors rely on—and we're looking for a seasoned investment professional to lead our Analyst organization.

As Vice President, Analysts & Client Support you will lead a high-performing team of analysts responsible for delivering accurate, scalable, and client-ready portfolio analytics across Arcana’s platform. You will combine investment workflow expertise, analytical depth, and strong operating discipline to ensure our analyst organization supports institutional clients with exceptional quality, speed, and judgment.

You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Client Success, and senior leadership to translate real-world investment workflows into scalable product capabilities, analytical frameworks, and repeatable operating processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and scale a team of 20–30 analysts, fostering a culture of ownership, excellence, and continuous learning.
  • Drive hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development for the Analyst organization.
  • Partner with senior leadership to set priorities, operating rhythms, and execution standards across the Analyst organization.
  • Own quality standards for portfolio data workflows, client implementations, analytics validation, and recurring deliverables.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data Science leadership to define the roadmap for portfolio analytics and institutional investment workflows.
  • Translate complex investment processes into scalable product capabilities and analytical frameworks.
  • Establish best practices, review standards, and quality controls across financial models, portfolio analytics, and client deliverables.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex analytical, operational, and client-related challenges.
  • Collaborate directly with portfolio managers, CIOs, traders, and risk teams to understand evolving investment workflows and drive product innovation.
  • Define team goals, operational metrics, and delivery KPIs while continuously improving execution efficiency.
  • Build organizational capability through coaching, succession planning, and leadership development.
  • Stay ahead of market trends, portfolio management techniques, and institutional investment practices to guide both product strategy and team direction.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in institutional investing, asset management, hedge funds, portfolio analytics, risk analytics, investment technology, or client-facing analytical delivery.
  • 5+ years of people management experience, including leading teams of 20+ professionals.
  • Deep expertise in portfolio performance measurement, attribution, risk analytics, portfolio construction, and institutional investment workflows.
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional initiatives involving Product, Engineering, and Business teams.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of building, mentoring, and retaining high-performing analytical teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience interacting with senior investment professionals and executive leadership.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with advanced Excel skills and experience working with large financial datasets.
  • Proven ability to build scalable analyst processes, QA frameworks, documentation standards, and operating metrics in a high-growth environment.
  • Experience managing global stakeholders and collaborating across multiple time zones.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from a top-ranked university in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • CFA designation strongly preferred; FRM or MBA is a plus.
  • Experience with Bloomberg, FactSet, MSCI Barra, Aladdin, Charles River, or similar institutional investment platforms.
  • Familiarity with Python, SQL, or other analytical tools is an advantage.
