Position Summary
The CCUS Technology Engineer is responsible for the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of CCUS injection wells, pipelines, and associated surface facilities. This role provides engineering leadership for well drilling, completion, injection, monitoring, workovers, integrity management, maintenance, regulatory compliance, and capital projects. The engineer serves as a key technical resource supporting operational performance, asset integrity, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement of CCUS assets.

Engineering and Operations Support

• Provide engineering support for CCUS wells, pipelines, and surface facilities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
• Monitor and analyze operational data, including injection rates, pressures, temperatures, and equipment performance, and recommend improvements to optimize reliability and asset utilization.
• Support drilling, completion, intervention, workover, abandonment, commissioning, startup, and operational readiness activities.
• Develop engineering designs, technical specifications, and recommendations for facility, pipeline, and well modifications.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts, root cause investigations, and corrective action development for operational and equipment issues.
• Provide technical guidance to operations personnel, contractors, and project teams.

Asset Integrity, Reliability, and Maintenance

• Develop and maintain reliability and asset integrity programs for wells, pipelines, valves, pressure relief devices, and associated equipment.
• Support maintenance planning and reliability-centered maintenance strategies to improve equipment availability and performance.
• Lead pipeline integrity initiatives, including inspections, corrosion monitoring, pigging programs, and data evaluation.
• Participate in Management of Change (MOC) processes and asset improvement initiatives.

Well Integrity and Regulatory Compliance

• Develop and implement Well Integrity Management Plans in accordance with EPA Class VI requirements and company standards.
• Evaluate mechanical integrity data, pressure testing results, monitoring data, and well performance information.
• Support Mechanical Integrity Tests (MITs), compliance assessments, audits, inspections, and permit reviews.
• Conduct engineering risk assessments and root cause analyses related to well, pipeline, and injection operations.

Process Safety and Risk Management

• Identify operational and environmental risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), HAZOPs, Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA), and other risk reviews.
• Provide technical support for high-risk work activities and ensure engineering decisions support process safety, environmental compliance, and long-term asset integrity.

Project and Capital Engineering

• Develop project scopes, cost estimates, technical specifications, and engineering deliverables for capital and maintenance projects.
• Support contractor selection, technical bid evaluations, procurement activities, and project execution.
• Coordinate engineering efforts across operations, maintenance, environmental, drilling, reservoir, and project teams.

Data Analysis and Reporting

• Maintain engineering records for drilling, completions, injection operations, workovers, and facility modifications.
• Utilize digital systems and databases to monitor performance, track KPIs, and support decision-making.
• Prepare engineering evaluations, integrity assessments, regulatory submissions, and management reports.
• Provide data-driven recommendations to improve asset performance, reliability, and compliance.

Qualifications
Education

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Experience

• Five or more years of experience in oil and gas, gas storage, CO₂ injection, CCUS, pipeline operations, subsurface engineering, facility engineering, or a related industry.
• Experience supporting well operations, integrity management, pipeline systems, asset reliability, or facility operations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Certification

• IADC WellSharp Supervisory Well Control Certification.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
