Project Manager - Manufacturing Digital Transformation (MDx) - Decatur, IL
This is a full time, exempt level position.
Preferred Location: North American Headquarters in Decatur, IL

Position Summary:
As a Project Manager for Manufacturing Digital Transformation, you will drive digital transformation across ADM Global Operations by leading and executing projects that transform the way we work.  This will include projects that:

• Connect front line workers with the data they need to make effective decisions.
• Develop and deploy architectures that move data from field devices to a central, contextualized cloud environment.
• Leverage analytics and other technology to make better decisions.

Project scopes will range from technical code development and early proofs of concept to scaling and replicating digital products. Depending on the nature of each project, methodologies may include both waterfall and Agile approaches. Success will require collaboration across ADM, including plant managers, front-line workers, operational technology teams, and global information technology resources.

While the project manager will initially focus on a specific project, this person might manage one or several projects depending on the size and scope.

Job Responsibilities:

• Define project scope and develop delivery plans aligned with established roles, responsibilities and governance structures
• Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, including defining project scope, goals, and deliverables
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively
• Lead organizational change management activities, including stakeholder engagement, communication planning, training coordination, and adoption measurement
• Drive site readiness and support successful adoption of digital solutions across manufacturing facilities.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks
• Manage project RAID (Risks, Actions, Issues, and Decisions) logs and drive timely resolution
• Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and developers to define requirements and prioritize value delivery
• Maintain clear and effective communication with task owners within the team, in other teams across ADM and the globe, and at different companies
• Track and report project value realization, including operational, financial and adoption metrics
• Support portfolio planning, prioritization, and resource coordination across multiple manufacturing digital transformation initiatives
• Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment
• Facilitate project stage-gate reviews and governance processes
• Ensure project deliverables align with Helios program standards, architecture, and strategic objectives
• Provide coaching and support to team members in Agile methodologies and user story writing
• Manage relationships with external vendors, implementation partners, and service providers as needed
• Effectively communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders, building and maintaining strong relationships with each
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the project management function

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations or a related technical discipline.
• Experience with capacity planning and workload balancing.
• Proven experience in project management
• Strong understanding of both waterfall and Agile methodologies
• Experience working with Agile teams, facilitating backlog refinement, sprint planning, and user story development
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in project management tools and software
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP, PMI-ACP, or Scrum certification
• Lean Six Sigma certification
• Experience with product scale-up and industrial transformation initiatives
• Experience in scaling products from a single proof of concept to replications across multiple locations and regions
• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing operations, continuous improvement principles, and collaboration between Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) teams.
• Experience in one or more of AVEVA PI, Edge & Cloud technologies stack, Digital Workflow & Connected Worker, MES/MOM systems, SCADA systems, PLC environments, or similar manufacturing digital technologies.

Travel

• Up to 20% travel required

Physical Requirements

• This job will require visits to observe project work in operating production plant facilities and to communicate with stakeholders and users.
• Access to these project areas would involve climbing stairs and being exposed to the weather and environmental elements of the area, including hot and humid conditions in the summer and cold outdoor conditions during winter months.
• This is an individual contributor leadership role.
• Success will depend on influencing stakeholders, aligning cross-functional teams, and driving execution across operations, OT, IT, and business functions without direct reporting authority.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
