The Transition to Practice Coordinator is responsible for effectively planning, implementing and overseeing the Transition to Practice (TTP) Programs and/or student nursing interns to improve the student experience. The TTP Coordinator will engage with subject matter experts, leaders, mentors, and preceptors based on the participants’ identified learning needs, competencies, and development goals. The TTP Coordinator will work collaboratively with the other members of the Nursing Professional Development team, internal and external partners, and stakeholders to create a learning environment and education programs that meet individual, department, and organizational goals.
1. Plans, develops, and evaluates TTP and/or student programs by establishing time-bound, achievable, and results-oriented goals.
2. Stays abreast of trends in the field and systematically analyze them against the TTP and/or student programs content, adjusting and amending the content to ensure preeminent educational support.
3. Advocates for programs that support the authentic needs of the learner and the organization.
4. Implements motivational strategies at the individual, group, program and organizational levels, using outcome measurements and evaluation methods to continuously analyze the program's effectiveness.
5. Recruits subject matter experts, nurse leaders, facilitators, mentors, and preceptors for the TTP and/or student programs.
6. Conducts TTP and/or student workshops for nurse leaders and others.
7. Creates processes to identify and involve stakeholders in the evaluation process.
8. Assess learner characteristics, including learning styles and learning needs for continuous program development.
9. Function as teacher and facilitator ensuring all participants feel respected and recognized as professionals.
10. Plans programs that are culturally and socially relevant and incorporates concepts of multicultural and multigenerational education.
11. Communicates effectively with a diverse population, demonstrating understanding of cultural and social factors that may affect the listener's ability to fully comprehend the message; adjust communication style as warranted.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.
