The (Junior) HR Generalist is an integral member of the Human Resources team and is responsible for supporting the Davenport Plant and our satellite facilities (Danville and Hutchinson) through location initiatives, processes and projects and in support of the HR Business Partners/Manager.
This person will work directly with the HR Team, employees and leaders across Davenport. He/She will be responsible for various people metrics and projects as well as being actively engaged in plant activities that support the effective facilitation of processes related to his/her key accountabilities.
The (Junior) HR Generalist shall endeavor to remain generally abreast of local, state and federal laws, rules, regulations and statutes governing equal employment opportunity practices as well as Arconic corporate and local policies and practices.
The HR Generalist will provide back up support to other members of the HR team to ensure consistent coverage is provided at all times.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Support Weekly Hourly payroll with accuracy and responsiveness to employee questions.
- →Recruitment of production employees through applicant tracking system and online recruitment boards, facilitation of post offer process including background checks, and On-boarding all new hires during New Employee Orientation for HR topics and completion of required documentation per company and/or state/federal requirements including I9s & file management.
- →Support of community events, job fairs, planning of employee events and support of Employee Resources Groups.
- →General administrative support of HR Department (and other departments by exception) which includes purchase orders, applicant tracking system, employee file management, internal and self-audits, ordering supplies.
- →Other projects may include but not limited to: Hourly Job Evaluation process, Corporate Engagement survey, response to unemployment compensation inquires.
- 3 years of professional, administrative work experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 year experience with Microsoft Suite of products
- This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Nice to Have
