About the Role

Arion Care is seeking a Area Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and ensure high-quality, compliant, and person-centered services for the members we support.

The Area Manager provides leadership and support to Area Supervisors, Coordinators, Assistants, Schedulers, Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), and other team members. This role combines people leadership, case management, operational oversight, compliance, and relationship management to ensure members receive excellent services and teams have the resources and support they need to succeed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, social work, disability services, or a related field OR a combination of at least five years of relevant education and experience.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience providing home care support; Arion Care supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DPS fingerprint clearance card.
  • Experience working with databases and software applications.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and networking abilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective internal and external partnerships.
  • Strong organization, follow-through, and goal-oriented work habits.
  • An approachable, professional, and open-minded leadership style.
  • Commitment to collaboration and teamwork across departments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and multiple database/software applications.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot effectively and communicate solutions clearly.
  • Self-direction and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to balance people leadership, member needs, compliance, and operational priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, train, and develop Area Supervisors, Coordinators, Assistants, Schedulers, DSPs, and other assigned team members.
  • Provide individualized coaching and feedback to support employee growth and performance.
  • Foster a psychologically safe, collaborative, and respectful workplace.
  • Train DSPs and ensure team members maintain required certifications and training.
  • Address employee concerns and complaints and ensure appropriate documentation and follow-through.
  • Ensure adequate staffing and coverage, including emergency coverage when needed.
  • Coordinate responsive case management and support members with emerging needs.
  • Maintain relationships with members, guardians, families, staff, and state personnel.
  • Attend member meetings, including quarterly planning meetings and other meetings as needed.
  • Coordinate services and staffing, including new placements and follow-up with funding sources.
  • Help members access resources and referrals such as interpretation services, habilitation supports, and community resources.
  • Support implementation of behavior treatment plans when appropriate.
  • Participate in community events and activities as needed.
  • Ensure smooth daily operations of the assigned area.
  • Monitor team workflows, systems, and resource utilization to improve efficiency.
  • Collect, track, and review service and performance data, including habilitation data, ATC notes, and progress monitoring.
  • Monitor monthly billing totals and support accurate payroll and billing processes.
  • Research billing denials, identify corrective actions, and monitor rebilling status.
  • Track denials, reasons for denials, and required follow-up.
  • Complete required monthly reports and tasks, including certification reports and other operational reporting.
  • Respond to emails, phone calls, and texts within one business day.
  • Meet required deadlines and maintain a flexible schedule when business needs require it.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, licensing regulations, and state requirements.
  • Monitor required certifications, documentation, records, and employee compliance.
  • Maintain accurate tracking systems and identify staff who may be at risk of losing required certifications.
  • Ensure incident reports are completed within required timeframes.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and other applicable privacy requirements.
  • Ensure required records, logs, and documentation are accurate and maintained.
  • Participate in scheduled on-call rotations throughout the year.
  • Promote a safe environment free from abuse, intimidation, harassment, and other inappropriate conduct.
  • Follow all company and state policies and procedures.
