About the Role

~1 min read

As a Maintenance Planner at the Elmdon Plant, you will play a key role in improving equipment reliability, maintenance performance, and operational efficiency across the site. Working closely with the Maintenance Manager, you will manage and develop the maintenance management system, ensuring planned maintenance activities are effectively scheduled, tracked, and optimised.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical understanding with data analysis and planning expertise to drive continuous improvement. You'll help shape maintenance best practice, provide valuable performance insights through KPIs, and support the reliability of critical plant equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

~1 min read

You will develop, maintain, and continuously improve the site's Planned Preventive Maintenance programme, ensuring maintenance activities are planned effectively and supported by the right resources, tooling, permits, contractors, and spare parts. Working collaboratively with production teams, stores, and external suppliers, you will coordinate maintenance activities to minimise disruption and maximise asset availability.

You will monitor maintenance performance through KPI reporting, analyse trends, support root cause investigations into recurring failures, and recommend improvements that enhance reliability and efficiency. Maintaining accurate asset information within the maintenance management system will also form a key part of the role, ensuring high-quality data supports informed decision-making across the business.

You will ideally have an engineering background or qualification, along with some exposure to maintenance planning, maintenance systems, or engineering operations. You are highly organised, analytical, and detail-focused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure. Strong IT skills, particularly in spreadsheets, databases, and Microsoft Office applications, are essential. You will be a confident communicator who can build positive relationships across departments and work collaboratively to achieve results. Most importantly, you will bring a proactive mindset, a strong sense of ownership, and a passion for continuous improvement within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

We are always keen to support the development and progression of our existing employees. To help ensure a smooth process end-to-end, please make your line manager aware of any roles you apply for internally. In any case, line management will be informed by HR/Recruitment as part of the recruitment process, so early discussion is encouraged wherever possible.
