Location: Antioch, CA (In-Person)
Schedule: Full-Time or Part-Time | 2026–2027 School Year
Pay Rate: $60–75 per hour
Ascend is seeking passionate and dedicated Special Education Teachers to support students with diverse learning needs in a supportive and inclusive educational environment. We are looking for educators committed to student growth, collaboration, and creating meaningful learning experiences for students with moderate to severe disabilities.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Provide specialized academic instruction aligned with IEP goals and California State Standards
- →Develop and implement individualized and small-group instruction using evidence-based teaching strategies
- →Support students with mild to moderate and/or moderate to severe disabilities in classroom and alternative educational settings
- →Conduct formal and informal assessments to monitor academic and behavioral progress
- →Develop, manage, and maintain compliant IEPs, including progress reports and documentation
- →Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, paraprofessionals, and families
- →Utilize adaptive technology and instructional supports to increase student access to curriculum
- →Implement positive behavior intervention strategies and classroom management techniques
- →Support student transition planning, vocational readiness, and life skills development when applicable
- →Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines
- →Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives
Requirements
~1 min read- Valid California Education Specialist Credential required
- Experience with Mod/Severe or ESN classrooms strongly preferred
- Experience supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered practices
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary team environments
