Special Education Teacher

Pay: $60-75 per hour

Job Title: Special Education Teacher (SPED) – Mod/Severe or ESN (H1-B Sponsorship Available)
Location: Antioch, CA (In-Person)
Schedule: Full-Time or Part-Time | 2026–2027 School Year
Pay Rate: $60–75 per hour

Ascend is seeking passionate and dedicated Special Education Teachers to support students with diverse learning needs in a supportive and inclusive educational environment. We are looking for educators committed to student growth, collaboration, and creating meaningful learning experiences for students with moderate to severe disabilities.

• →Provide specialized academic instruction aligned with IEP goals and California State Standards
• →Develop and implement individualized and small-group instruction using evidence-based teaching strategies
• →Support students with mild to moderate and/or moderate to severe disabilities in classroom and alternative educational settings
• →Conduct formal and informal assessments to monitor academic and behavioral progress
• →Develop, manage, and maintain compliant IEPs, including progress reports and documentation
• →Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, paraprofessionals, and families
• →Utilize adaptive technology and instructional supports to increase student access to curriculum
• →Implement positive behavior intervention strategies and classroom management techniques
• →Support student transition planning, vocational readiness, and life skills development when applicable
• →Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines
• →Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives

• Valid California Education Specialist Credential required
• Experience with Mod/Severe or ESN classrooms strongly preferred
• Experience supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered practices
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary team environments
