The ASFG Summer School Program provides students with an opportunity to recover failed semester courses in High School and failed year long courses in Middle School through an intensive and structured academic experience. Summer School courses are designed to support student growth while maintaining clear academic expectations, consistent communication, and strong organizational systems.
The Summer School Coordinator plays a key operational and communication role in ensuring the successful implementation of the program.
The Summer School Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination, communication, and day-to-day management of the Summer School program. The coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for teachers, students, and families throughout the summer sessions and works closely with the section offices.
The role requires strong organization, initiative, problem-solving, and communication skills, as well as familiarity with middle and/or high school academic programs and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Pre-Summer Planning
- Collaborate with the section offices to finalize the Summer School program structure and logistics.
- Review proposed course offerings, teacher interest forms, and draft schedules for courses.
- High School Semester 2 course offerings and staffing following the close of Semester 2 on June 15, 2026.
- Coordinate staffing assignments.
- Organize teacher communication and onboarding materials.
- Maintain updated Summer School spreadsheets and records related to enrollment, staffing, grading, and attendance.
- Ensure clear communication timelines with students, families, and teachers.
- Confirm classroom assignments, schedules, and operational needs with relevant school departments.
- Ensure teachers feel supported
- Verify readiness before classes begin
During Summer School
- Serve as the primary operational point of contact during all summer sessions.
- Support teachers with scheduling, attendance concerns, student issues, and unique situations as they arise.
- Maintain proactive and responsive communication with students, families, and teachers.
- Confirm student participation, attendance expectations, and program details with families as needed.
- Coordinate with administration regarding student eligibility, enrollment changes, or behavioral concerns.
- Track grading progress and ensure timely submission of grades and reports.
- Monitor course enrollment and communicate any concerns related to staffing or viability of courses.
- Problem-solve day-to-day operational issues independently while keeping administration informed when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records and communication logs.
- Coordinate with Finance, HR, and Operations regarding program setup, teacher participation, payroll processing, and student billing procedures.
- Maintain accurate records needed for teacher payment processing and final reporting.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Familiarity with middle school and/or high school academic programs and procedures
- Proficiency with spreadsheets (Google Sheets / Excel) and accurate data tracking
- Strong written and verbal communication in English and Spanish
- Coordination, counseling, teaching, administrative, or leadership experience (preferred)

Work Hours:
Immediate start upon appointment; work continues through completion of summer grading and reporting in July 2026.
- Working with the MS/HS sections in organizing logistics from the time of appointment to beginning of summer classes
- June 22–26, 2026: Seniors only
- June 29–July 10, 2026: Session 1 courses
- July 13–24, 2026: Session 2 courses
