The advance Reliability Engineer is primarily responsible for maintaining high availability and reliable operation of site utility equipment. This role also requires covering partial extrusion process equipment reliability management and supports the Maintenance Manager in daily maintenance team supervision.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Conduct routine condition monitoring for all static and rotating equipment, including air compressors, chillers, water pumps, pressure vessels and pressure piping etc.
- Assist the Maintenance Manager in daily department administration, team coordination and onsite maintenance work arrangement.
- Implementation of the plant preventive and predictive maintenance program via SAP system, ensuring all PPM work orders are completed against the scheduled plans.
- Ensure periodic inspection of pressure vessels and calibration of safety valves in strict accordance with local regulatory standards and corporate requirements.
- Lead annual PPM worklist review, optimize maintenance items and frequencies based on historical equipment failure data and operational performance.
- Collect vibration data for critical equipment and perform continuous trend analysis for early failure detection.
- Conduct unplanned downtime (UD) statistics and compile monthly equipment reliability performance reports.
- Organize formal root cause analysis (RCA) sessions for major equipment failures, identify fundamental causes, and track closure of all corrective and preventive actions.
- Serve as the on-site MI (Mechanical integrity) focal point, maintain close alignment with the global MI team, deliver required regular reports, attend global online meetings, and follow up on all assigned action items.
- Act as site mechanical safety champion to get connection with globe MS team, apply MS mythology to conduct risk assessment, lead the MS annual audit and trace the actions item till closure.
- Support new construction and continuous improvement projects as a mechanical reliability specialist, participating in design review and Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), PSSR.
- Lead equipment overhauls, system shutdown maintenance, and reliability enhancement projects for single equipment or entire systems.
- Collect technical data for equipment upgrade and replacement, and initiate Capex budget applications based on actual site requirements.
- Continuously identify cost-saving, cost-reduction and cost-avoidance opportunities for both fixed and variable operational costs.
- Cascade global MI standards and requirements to on-site teams, and deliver professional training for mechanical technicians to standardize maintenance execution.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Petrochemical Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines.
- Minimum 3 years of working experience as a Mechanical or Reliability Engineer in large-scale manufacturing or process plants.
- Solid foundational knowledge of national mechanical codes, piping standards and machine safety regulations.
- Prior working experience with utility equipment (air compressor, nitrogen generator, chiller, cooling tower, etc.) is highly preferred.
- Strong on-site problem-solving capability and failure analysis skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and cross-team communication ability.
- Self-motivated, responsible ownership mindset, and good team player.
- Fluent English in both verbal communication and written documentation.
