As a Senior / Quality Engineer at ASM, you will join the Global Quality (GQ) team and collaborate with contract manufacturers, manufacturing sites, engineering, and field service teams to meet customer expectations. Your responsibilities include driving contract manufacturing / manufacturing quality improvements, addressing non-conformances, and implementing quality systems aligned with ASM’s technology roadmap. This role suits those with strong quality expertise, and a drive for continuous improvement in high-tech manufacturing.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Lead investigations of manufacturing non-conformances, customer complaints, and field quality issues.
- →Facilitate structured problem-solving activities using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, and other quality tools.
- →Drive containment, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and effectiveness verification to prevent recurrence.
- →Drive both ASM and contract manufacturing quality performance through data analysis, risk identification, corrective action implementation, and promote continuous improvement systematically.
- →Develop and optimize inspection plans, quality control methods, and workmanship standards.
- →Conduct product audits as necessary prior to release for shipment, to confirm compliance with quality standards for customers.
- →Support internal audits, external certification audits, and customer audits. Ensure timely closure of audit findings and continuous improvement actions
- →Conduct periodic ISO 9001 audits toward contract manufacturers and follow-up CAPA within given time frame.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Quality Engineering or other related disciplines.
- 5+ years of experience in quality and manufacturing background
- ISO 9001 internal auditor / lead auditor certification preferred
- Possesses experience in internal audits, certification audits, and/or customer audits.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and expertise in structured problem solving (8D methodology).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration for internal facing and external facing.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Experience within semiconductor equipment manufacturing or other highly regulated, complex technology industries..
- Leadership experience in escalation management
- Familiar with following operational excellence tools but not limited to: lean manufacturing, FMEA, SPC, PCDA, 8D problem solving, Six Sigma.
