We provide services including security, customer service, K9 detection, concierge, and baggage handling to a wide range of clients such as residential properties, commercial facilities, retail spaces, as well as some of the largest airports in Canada.
ASP is looking for Security Guards for Halton Region’s headquarters, corporate properties, and other locations, with both static and casual roles available. Candidates must possess previous security experience and be able to provide highly visible service in a professional, competent, and courteous manner, whilst exercising excellent communication and customer service skills. Working with integrity and awareness, the Security Guard takes responsibility for securing and protecting our clients, their guests and vendors, and the Region’s properties.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Provide protection from theft, vandalism, and trespassing
- →Conduct locks and unlocks of doors, gates, and fences
- →Office support such as reception tasks, receiving mail and packages, and answering phone calls
- →Via CCTV and the Access Control System, monitor the properties
- →Ensure all persons entering the facilities sign the visitor’s log on arrival and departure
- →Engage in professional, collaborative, and proactive security services
- →Foot patrols on site on an ongoing hourly basis
- →Prevention of loitering and soliciting
- →Investigate, report, and respond to any incidents and alarms as required
- →Ensure all site equipment is secure
- →Work in compliance with OHSA, AODA, CCC, and PSISA regulations, etc
- →Be responsible for keys and other equipment such as cellphones and radios
- →Customer service and collaboration with visitors, staff, contractors, and other personnel
- →Assist in emergency situations such as evacuations and medical incidents
- →Escalation to emergency services when necessary
- →Submission of daily reports and incident reports
- →Perform other relevant functions as required, including but not limited to fire watches, escorts, and door watches
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Minimum of 1 year of prior security experience
- Eligible to work in Canada
- Ability to work in both indoors and outdoor environments, think critically, perform safely, and work with a team
- Must possess an Ontario Security Guard License
- Must possess valid First Aid, CPR and AED certification (Standard Level C)
- Strong written and verbal communication, including radio use
- Ability to work 40 hours per week is mandatory for full-time staff, inclusive of holidays and weekends
- Availability of two days per week is mandatory for casual staff
- Able to walk extended distances, including stairs, in all weather conditions
