~1 min readWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Device Service & Operations Intern to join our team supporting medical laser equipment used by healthcare professionals. This is a hands-on opportunity for a student interested in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, medical devices, or technical operations.
The intern will work alongside our service team performing preliminary quality-control checks on laser systems, while also assisting with day-to-day office, shipping, and fulfillment operations.
This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys both hands-on technical work and practical business operations.
This is a part-time position during the academic year, approximately 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, beginning immediately and continuing through the Spring 2027 semester.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Perform preliminary quality-control checks on medical laser equipment.
- Assist with basic functional testing and inspection of equipment prior to shipment or service.
- Follow established testing procedures, checklists, and safety protocols.
- Document test results and identify issues requiring additional evaluation by senior technical staff.
- Assist with basic equipment preparation, cleaning, labeling, and organization.
- Learn the fundamentals of medical laser systems and their components.
- Prepare equipment, parts, and accessories for shipment.
- Package and label shipments accurately and safely.
- Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against packing documentation.
- Assist with inventory organization and tracking.
- Prepare customer orders and service parts for fulfillment.
- Maintain an organized parts and equipment area.
- Assist with data entry and maintaining service and inventory records.
- Organize service documentation, work orders, and equipment records.
- Assist with general office tasks and other operational projects as needed.
- Support the service team with day-to-day administrative responsibilities.
Requirements
~1 min read- Currently enrolled in a college or university, preferably pursuing a degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures.
- Comfortable working with tools, equipment, and technical documentation.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Willingness to learn and take on both technical and administrative responsibilities.
Nice to Have
~1 min read- Previous laboratory, engineering, manufacturing, medical-device, or technical experience.
- Familiarity with basic electrical or mechanical concepts.
- Experience using hand tools or test equipment.
- Hands-on experience working with medical laser technology and medical devices.
- Exposure to quality-control and equipment testing processes.
- Experience with medical-device service operations and logistics.
- Practical experience with inventory, fulfillment, and technical documentation.

What We Offer
~1 min read$20–$23 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
