With five satellites on orbit and many more set to launch soon, the company is servicing a backlog of more than $1 billion of commercial contracts. Astranis is the preferred satellite communications partner for buyers with stringent requirements for uptime, data security, network visibility, and customization.

Astranis designs, builds, and operates its satellites out of its 153,000 sq. ft. headquarters in Northern California, USA.

Internships at Astranis typically last for twelve weeks, and are hourly roles designed for students who are currently enrolled at a four-year university.

The Supplier Quality Engineering Intern will support developing the manufacturing processes and quality systems of the Astranis supply chain, design and enable quality inspections, improve manufacturing processes, and work together with long heritage and experienced suppliers as well as innovation suppliers on quality issues that are re-defining the Space industry in finding ways tom manufacture, inspect, and qualify new technologies and designs.

Drive failure mode and root cause analyses, and implementation of corrective actions.
Design quality requirements and specifications.
Outline inspection and testing plans, and define re-processing and repair methods.
Monitor suppliers' performance and purchased parts' status, and communicate status to management.
Support manufacturing process development at supplier sites.

Requirements

Currently pursuing Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, supply chain, or a similar discipline
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex problems
Strong communication skills
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Bonus

Experience in manufacturing.
Experience with quality management systems.
Experience with inspection methods, metrology, and instrumentation.
Ability to read technical drawings and data sheets.

The base pay for this position is $29.00 per hour.

Base Hourly Pay

$29—$29 USD
