The Human Resources Business Partner, Store Operations builds strategic partnerships that strengthen organizational effectiveness and drive business results through people. This role provides practical HR guidance and support across Team Member relations, compliance, engagement, talent planning, organizational effectiveness, performance management, talent acquisition, and HR programs and projects. Success requires sound judgment, strong organization, attention to detail, discretion, and consistent follow-through. The successful candidate will manage multiple priorities, handle confidential information, translate HR priorities into clear actions, and adapt to changing business needs in a fast-paced retail environment.

 

  • Provide day-to-day HR partnership to the Store Operations team and serve as a collaborative resource to Field HR Business Partners based on business needs and priorities.

  • Build trusted, consultative relationships with Home Office and store leaders through regular communication, coaching, and practical guidance.

  • Advise leaders on organizational design and effectiveness, workforce planning, Team Member engagement, performance management, change management and all other people-related business needs.

  • Support stores by responding to Team Member and leader needs, visiting locations as appropriate, identifying workforce trends, and coordinating solutions that support business priorities.

 

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Team Members and leaders by addressing workplace concerns and resolving conflicts in a timely, fair, and consistent manner.

  • Conduct or support timely, thorough, and objective Team Member relations investigations, including Hotline reports, case documentation, tracking, follow-up, and escalation of complex matters.

  • Support employment-related compliance activities by applying knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements across multiple jurisdictions and partnering with Legal and other subject-matter experts to mitigate risk.

  • Maintain the confidentiality of Team Member information and ensure records and documentation are handled in accordance with company policies and applicable requirements.

 

  • Lead and support Team Member engagement and retention initiatives, including surveys, reporting, action planning, exit interviews, and analysis of engagement and turnover trends to coach leaders on targeted improvement strategies.

  • Partner with leaders and Talent Development on succession and bench planning, talent reviews, calibration, development planning, and training that support business priorities and Team Member growth.

  • Guide leaders through performance management and annual talent processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, calibration, development planning, compensation planning, corrective action, and ongoing feedback.

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and hiring leaders on position requirements, candidate assessment, interviews, offer recommendations, and selection strategies for key Home Office and store leadership roles.

 

  • Support cross-functional HR initiatives from planning through implementation by coordinating stakeholders, managing timelines and deliverables, and communicating progress.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate HR reports, organizational charts, case records, and tracking tools; analyze workforce data to identify trends and develop actionable recommendations.

  • Identify and implement solutions that streamline HR processes, improve consistency, and increase efficiency.

  • Support emerging business priorities and other assignments as directed by HR leadership.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of three years of progressive HR experience required.
  • Experience supporting multi-unit retail operations (or similar) and Home Office teams.
  • Working knowledge of HR practices and employment-related compliance requirements.
  • Experience coordinating projects and managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Teams, HR information systems, reporting tools, and case-management platforms.
  • Must be available, as business needs require, to provide timely HR support outside standard business hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays, consistent with the operating schedules of the store teams supported.
  • Ability to travel by car or air, including occasional travel to stores, as business needs require.

 

  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage credible, consultative relationships with Team Members, business partners, and leaders at multiple levels.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, translate complex information into clear next steps, and influence leaders through practical recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, organization, and follow-through skills.
  • Proven ability to independently prioritize competing responsibilities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business priorities.
  • Sound judgment and a high degree of discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Eagerness to learn the company's operations and understand the needs of both Home Office and store teams.

 

  • Work is performed primarily in a Home Office environment under a hybrid schedule.
  • Must be able to remain stationary at a desktop workspace for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to move about an office environment and visit retail store environments as business needs require.
  • Occasional travel by car or air is required based on business needs.
