The Director of Summer Programs provides strategic leadership, administrative oversight, and business management for Athenian Summer Programs. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director is responsible for program design, staff recruitment, registration management, financial stewardship, marketing, and safety protocols.

As the primary Administrator in Charge during summer operations, you will cultivate a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment for campers, families, and seasonal staff while maximizing ASP's revenue and community impact.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Oversight: Lead the design, scheduling, and execution of a diverse portfolio of summer day camps, specialty camps, and residential offerings.

  • On-Campus Leadership: Serve as the primary Administrator in Charge during summer program operations, ensuring a well-run, safe, and engaging environment.

  • Entrepreneurial Growth: Identify opportunities to innovate, expand, and diversify program offerings based on enrollment data, family feedback, and community trends to support ASP’s financial sustainability.

  • Team Leadership: Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate seasonal camp directors, counselors, and support staff in accordance with Athenian standards.

  • Health & Safety: Maintain, review, and enforce comprehensive safety protocols, emergency procedures, and staff training (e.g., mandated reporting, CPR/AED, medical procedures).

  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Partner with Campus Facilities, Transportation, Dining Services, and security to ensure seamless logistics and resource sharing.

  • Platform & Data Management: Manage the online registration, payment, and invoicing systems in close collaboration with the Educational Technology team.

  • Enrollment Tracking: Maintain an annual dashboard tracking registration trends, revenue, and key metrics to inform business decisions.

  • Marketing & Outreach: Partner with the Communications team to create engaging digital and print marketing materials, website updates, flyers, and registration campaigns.

  • Customer Care: Serve as the primary contact for prospective and enrolled families, delivering exceptional communication and customer support.

  • Budgetary Management: Develop and manage the annual ASP budget, tracking revenue and expenses to meet organizational financial goals.
